Baypaw was getting worried- Norham still wasn't waking up. She decided to try to get some water in him anyway. Lifting his head, she gently trickled water into his mouth. "Norham, please wake up. Please." Tears welled up in her eyes. "Flippin' cad! If you die, I'll see to it that you never receive another good meal ever again. Just wait and jolly well see, you blighter."

Norham coughed and sputtered a bit. He sat bolt upright. "Wha?! Who? Gah!" As he sat up, he nearly missed conking heads with Baypaw. "Oh, thankee' miss Baypaw! Thank you so very much!" Norham said, he wasn't acting normal... Though, he never is. But he seemed, odd.
Hey you! What? Expecting a great quote or some heart-warming poem? Too bad, my signature is just boring. Stop reading it. Stop it. Why are you still reading it?

She heaved a deep sigh of relief, wiping away her tears as she regained control of herself. "Stay there, Norham. I think there's a stream nearby- I'll find it and bring back some water." Baypaw stood and hurried toward the sound of flowing water. The sooner she was back with water, the better. She paused for a moment when filling their flasks- something about Norham had seemed a bit off. Shrugging, she capped the flask. Some strangeness was to be expected , after all. He had just been poisoned, cured, dehydrated, and collapsed several times. He was not likely to be his normal self.

Antura and Zef reached the abbey only to find that the wallgate Antura had used to slip out was locked. She hissed in frustration and disgust. Of course somebeast would find it open and lock it. How could she be so thoughtless? And they couldn't risk calling up to the walltops- they might be hawed by unfriendly ears. Zef chuckled softly, selecting an arrow and tying it to a thin length of cord. Antura watched curiously. "Even if it caught on something, that rope isn't strong enough to hold either of us, mate." Zef didn't even look up. "Aye, but when your friends see an arrow sticking in their front lawn with a rope on it, they'll be interested. Don't ye think they'll look to see where it goes? Ah, but that won't be until dawn at least. We might as well get some sleep afore then, me beauty." He sent the arrow flying over the wall, trailing its cord. Then he tied the other end to a nearby branch and swung up into the tree for a nap. Antura was amazed that her friend could sleep- she was far too tense. She decided to stand watch, and leaned back against the tree, listening to Zef's quiet snores.

Vash, unnerved by the noise of Riggeo's horde, was still awake. He was staring out the window of the room he was in and was looking out onto the courtyard. That's when he noticed the arrow. Immediatly thinking that the horde was trying to invade Redwall, Vash went to investigate, knife drawn.

Norham was having dreams again, but these were at least peaceful. He dreamt of Redwall and its great halls. He was worried too, because those halls were about to be invaded.

Baypaw returned to find Norham unconscious again- no, he was merely asleep. He looked so peaceful it would be a shame to wake him, but he really needed water. She shook his shoulder gently. "Norham? Norham, I brought some water. Wake up, you need to drink."

Norham woke with sword in hand. "Aughhhh! Oh, er, sorry. Water you say, please!" He gently took the flask from her and drank gratefully. Norham, besides the strange awakening, seemed to be back to normal.

Antura woke suddenly. Realizing she had fallen asleep on watch, the ottermaid heaved a disgusted sigh. What if a vermin soldier had happened upon her? She would have been dead before she had a chance to wake up. She scanned the woods quickly, looking and listening for anything out of place. Everything was still and silent- almost too peaceful. Wait, what about Zef? She couldn't hear his snoring anymore... Antura climbed clumsily up the tree to where Zef had fallen asleep. He wasn't there!

Jeremias woke. The moon shone through his window. It was a peaceful looking night, but it was all but peaceful. He saw great torches, mounted on giant rolling towers, and many vermin, heading toward Redwall! Jeremias dashed down the dormitory stairs, yelling. "The bally vermin are upon us! Take up arms! The flippin' cads are attacking. He ran across the grounds, and after a while, he reached the belltower, and he began tolling out the alarm.

Startled by the tolling of Redwall's twin bells, Antura fell out of the tree and crashed to the ground. Moaning, she sat up. "Unhh... What? Oh no, the vermin must be attacking!" Throwing caution to the winds, she bellowed up to the walltop. "Oi! Anybeast there? It's me, Antura!!" To her surprise, the wallgate opened immediately, and Zef poked his head out. "Huh, some guard ye were. I snuck away while ye were sleepin', an' managed t'find a way over the walls. There's a branch that sticks out over 'em, y'see." Antura glared. "Well, you gave me the fright of my life in the process. I had no idea where you were!" Then she saw a shadowy figure stealing up behind Zef...

Ooc: Oh, good, I thought the worst had come to Zef!

Jeremias shot a glance over at Antura. "Antura m'gel, could you help a chap out and get the old, and the dibbuns to jolly old cavern hole?"

Antura let out a sigh of relief. It was only Jeremias. "Uh, sure." Zef turned to see who Antura was talking to. It was a hare! He glared at him, then turned back to address the ottermaid. "Ye're on speakin' terms with such beasts?" Surprised at her friend's obvious disdain, nodded. "Why wouldn't I be? Zef, I know you don't like being around other creatures, but please try to cooperate  can you fight on the walls while I help the young and old to Cavern Hole?" Zef stalked past Jeremias, commenting airily, "O' course, me darlin'. If no snot-nosed rabbits get in my way, that is." Antura sighed and headed toward the main abbey building.

Vash saw the rope attached to the arrow and quickly cut it. He heard somebeast coming, and quickly his in the shadows. But it was only a shrew. Relieved, Vash came out of his hiding place. That's when the bell started ringing. The relief he had been feeling earlier was instantly gone. They were being attacked! Why did he choose to stay, why?!

OOC: Finally, something to do!

BIC: Tom awoke to the sounds of panic and bells, and knew that the enemy was attacking. Of all the times to be injured it HAD to be now...

OOC: Can the abby have a couple of crossbows? There easier to shoot than bows.

Quickpaw

OOC: I know how you feel, Thom. And poor Tom!))
