I don't really see any PPing...unless you're counting the part where Spera "glances up."
I do see how this could be counted as Mary Sue-ing, but I don't think it's really as bad as you think. Yes, Farril has Joey. However, his attention is split between two Swords and a mousebabe. He may think he's in control of the situation, but I doubt that will last long the way he's going about it.

EDIT: ....until BloodGullet made it a....bird? My character could tell if it was a bird, flapping wings and chirping. I left that opening so we could move the story along! Please edit your post so somebody else can jump in.
