*As Navarre’s sword was captured in between two of the long metal claws, the leather straps that held his left arm guard in place came loose under the pressure. In one horrifying moment, it came off! Due to the force the ferret had put on it, it slammed into his helmet. His eyesight went out of focus and losing his sense of balance he went sprawling onto the wet sand. Vannøyne rolled to the north away from the ferret, and got on his knees. He lifted his sword in a defensive position, readying himself for the next attack. His head was still spinning inside his helmet and Navarre looked like a large mound closing in on him.

*As Vannøyne's claw came off, Navarre's sword came out of her grasp. She went over and tried to get her sword untangled from the leather straps of the claw. After she got her sword free, she turned and faced her opponent. Vannøyne's sword was lifted in a defensive position, so she lowered her sword and swung at Vannøyne's legs, hoping to hit him just above the knees so he couldn't stand so he would be easier to kill.

While the young mouse’s green eyes began to clear he saw a flash of light that reflected off of the steel blade of his opponent. It came in a long arc, heading down to his legs. Realization hit him and he had just enough time to back away. But the sword came so fast that it went through his leather trousers and slashed a thin wound just above the knee. Yelling out a cry of pain and curses he made a flash assault on the ferret, aiming at her exposed stomach.

*After Navarre missed Vannøyne, she fell on to the sand due the momentum of her attack. Just as she started getting up, she saw Vannøyne coming down at her with his sword. She did her best to deflect the blade with her sword, but it still ended up giving her a deep gash in her side. She slowly and painfully got up, her left paw pressed to her wound in an attempt to stop the flow of blood. She swung her sword weakly to Vannøyne's neck. She wanted to give up, but she didn't see a way out of the fight unless she killed Vannøyne.

*Vannøyne’s bad leg gave way from under him and he slipped on the dry sand. Ironically, the action probably saved his life. The ferret’s sword hit the top of his helmet which went flying off his head and into the tide. Pushing with his hands, he crawled back and stood up. He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a sandy paw.
He held his sword above his head for another attack. As he swung his sword at her, the mouse sent a kick at his adversary aiming for her shin.

Navarre saw the mouse try to kick him, but she was too dazed to avoid it. Vannøyne's paw collided with her leg, and she fell onto the sand. She looked down at her wound, wondering if she had lost to much blood. Painfully, she tried to get up, but the more she tried, the more blood flowed out of her wound. She lay back down on the sand, hoping that Vannøyne would kill her soon.
