The reason she really isn't writing anymore is because the series ended with the final book ...

That's one reason why I'm very dubious about the new Star Wars "Episode" movies Disney are making (the new standalone movies are fine, hopefully). At the of Return of the Jedi the Emperor was dead, Vader / Anakin was redeemed and dead, the Galaxy was saved, and everyone lived happily ever after ... there's no sensible place for the story to go. In the novels they had to start doing some rather silly things like bringing back a clone Emperor and an alien race invading the galaxy. Even in The Clone Wars animated TV series they stupidly brought Darth Maul back, despite the fact that he had been chopped in half 10 years earlier.

I can do that because I'm awesome.

Urchin of course! And Padra, Arran, Brother Fir, Crispin. Juniper And Fingal, Needle, and all of them!  :D

Crispen became king, and Juniper became the brother. The Mistmantle Chronicles or very good books!

I hate it when a package says 'easy open' and you need a scissors, a knife, a crowbar, a gun, and a light-saber to open it.

I merged both topics together so that we now have a huge topic on the Mistmantle Chronicles instead of little splinters all over the place. ;)

anyway, my favorite characters from the series are Fingal and Juniper.  Fingal is a goofball, and that makes you want to like him, even if he is a bit annoying.  He does have an important role on the island.  Juniper takes on the serious role of the island priest and thus is expected to be helpful among the animals of Mistmantle.  He may not be as popular as Urchin, and he's immensely jealous of Urchin at one point, but I like his demeanor as he grows older and more into the role he's destined to fulfill.
