Methuselah was pretty old! He was Constance's teacher when she was a Dibbun and he was old then too! But I think Cregga is the oldest.

I just had a thought - what about the snake in the quarry? I'm not sure how old that was (or how old snakes can live to), but it seems to have been there long enough to have become a semi-legend.

That's true, Asmodeus could have been one of the oldest. But not as old as Cregga. It's also possible that Asmodeus might not have been particularly long lived, but his family/bloodline was, and nobody could tell the difference twixt one snake and another, thus, it seemed that there was an immortal snake.

-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.
