Oh my gosh I've wanted to try that [swordtag] so bad!

Do you have any groups nearby?

What do you mean?

That's just plain out of line buzz!   >:(

Good grief ... it was a JOKE, hence the winking smiley. Some people take things they read on the Internet WAY too seriously.  :(

Azzociation Football iz vot iz caved "zoccer" in America, an' American Football iz vot iz caved "football" in America.

If you want to be really confused, then Australians and New Zealanders often call Rugby (both the League and Union variations) by the name "footy" as well, as in "We're going to see the footy this weekend".

Then there's what most ot the world call "Hockey", but the American insist on calling "Field Hockey" because they stole the original word to use for "Ice Hockey". Plus there's Table Tennis / Ping-Pong, Rowing / Sculling, Athletics / Track and Field, ...  ::)

My goodness, rugby is difficult to get my head around. I went to see a match this year and it was continuously stopping and starting (really was not the best first game to go to for good rugby experience). I don't have the patience for sports that have to keep stopping!

Has anyone ever played broomball?  Very fun, in my opinion.  I've only played it once, but I really enjoyed it, despite the fact that it led to me getting whiplash and a sore backside.  ;)

Broomball? Not anything to do with Quidditch, I'll guess. :p

Sounds rather intriguing...

It's sort of like ice hockey, but you're using 'brooms', and you're pushing a puck around.  Also, when I played it, we weren't using ice skates, just our tennis shoes, so obviously it was VERY slippery.  Very fun, though!

I love Broomball! I've played it a few times with my brothers (Though we used a soccer ball instead of a puck (which is rather strange  ??? ))

If you wanna chat, PM me :) I'd love to talk with any of you!

Love Broomball! Such a fun game, and it's easy to incorporate less capable players because the ice levels the playing field.  :)

Rugby's a continuous game compared to American football, where it seems play stops every time someone is taken down. At least there are rucks/mauls which keep things moving. Although its nowhere near as fluid as football (soccer).

Mind you, I prefer racquet sports (apart from tennis- I don't like playing tennis much).
My ears, how are you, wot!

Yes, it's very hard to get your head around. Very easy to get a knock on the head, though. :P. I have a friend who plays a lot of rugby, he told me his ear was almost ripped off once, and he's played with a concussion multiple times.
