I got on here again, and I was surprised at the intelligence of my former posts. I underestimate 12-year-olds a lot.

The 10-year-old me was a smart little ant, tho. I could get along with that kid.
Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

Bitterly jittery, and not very glittery.

10 is an interesting age. My memories of being ten are rather vague...

So are mine, but I've still got my old stories.

Heehee, me too. They're ridiculous.

Ah, the stories I could tell you of Princess K and her evil uncle...

I could tell you about a family with twelve kids. Six sets of twins, actually. One of the sets was "almost identical."

BlueRose

Oooh!

Princess K had an  identical twin.

There was this kid who took a shower in less than two minutes once, according to my ten year old self. Also, a ten year old girl beat up two adult male bandits with a stick. :D

Twelve year old me wasn't all that different from right-now me. Seeing as it's only been about a year and a half. Although my 12 year old self was probably a lot more depressed. A lot of things were not very good for me at all that year... Pretty significant things. I also knew less about Minecraft mods and computers in general. I had never heard of Wildstar or Space Engineers, I had not played as much of pretty much any game I now own...

@People whose siblings are not present: I sympathize. Being alone all the time is not enjoyable.

Depression is not good. Cheer yourself up and Minecraft is overrated.

Just a butterfly struggling through my chrysalis.

I have been cheered up significantly. My living conditions have changed since then. I no longer have to live in a small, musty apartment that's three hours away from home half the time.

(And no, I wasn't severely depressed. Not to the point of doing anything I might regret. I consider myself mostly optimistic, that has been the case for as long as I can remember. Plus, I knew when most of the bad things would end.)

Correction: Vanilla minecraft survival is overrated. If you play multiplayer with a bunch of mods... Well, suffice it to say I'm currently in the process of building a sky fortress with a pneumatic tube to the ground, a nuclear reactor, a matter-energy storage system, vault doors, a quarry, and fully automatic machinery. At the same time, I'm doing a sort of arcane magic that nobody else on the server knows how to do.

The 12 me was SO out of the loop.

I'm retired from the forum

BlueRose

Interestingly enough, the 12 year old me was happier. I wonder how she did it?

Two words: Complicated, and hard. (and overrated)
