-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

Captain Tammo

Anybody else think that Bragoon and Sarobando's deaths were extremely sad? I mean I read that part over and over and over and just couldn't believe it! It was so sad!!! :'(

Another sad moment for me, probably tied for first in my head, was when Martin left his friends from Noonvale. He said he would never again speak of them nor Noonvale, nor see them again. Yet they had become such good friends that it made the moment tragic.

They told me I was gullible. I believed them.

Most events would be death, or not characters not seeing each other again for whatever reason.

Bragoon and Saro always tears me up.
My ears, how are you, wot!

Shadowed One

Bragoon and Saro's is sad, but in my opinion, it was also kind of lame. I mean, two old creatures kill hundreds of vermin and then throw a giant log, with even more vermin and a wearat on it, into a giant chasm, and then they die peacefully. You know what I mean?
Martin the Warrior is way more epic than Mickey Mouse. Anyone who says otherwise is insane, or just wrong.

Ah, Methuselah. :( When I read that, I wasn't used to book characters dying just like that, so it was pretty sad.
