Yeah, that was probably my first main character death experience. I'm like "Yay, Methuselah, You cool dude, oh, you're dead."
Hey you! What? Expecting a great quote or some heart-warming poem? Too bad, my signature is just boring. Stop reading it. Stop it. Why are you still reading it?

Yeah I was more disappointed than sad when Methuselah died. I was like.
"What, huh, why, oh bless him. Poor guy."

The deaths of Rose, Veil, and Mask were the most tragic in my opinion.
South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Seychelles, Malawi, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritius, Madagascar, Congo, Gabon, Togo, Burkina Faso, Western Sahara

I didn't mind to much when Veil died. I felt it more like justice. He did try to kill the Friar after all.

I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

There are tons of tragic deaths in Redwall... the young'uns that died in the battles of the Long Patrol always hit me pretty hard, though.
"'Tis the business of small minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

"Integrity and firmness is all I can promise; these, be the voyage long or short, shall never forsake me although I may be deserted by all men."
-George Washington

Courage: Not only the willingness to die manfully, but also the determination to live decently.

Methusalah, Mask, Saro, Bragoon, and Rose are probably high on the list, but there are more. I also thought St. Ninians was sad.

The climax of Legend of Luke.

Yep ^^

My first instinct is this, too. Luke tries to steer Vilu Daskar's ship back to his own home, only to find that everything's been completely abandoned--and not cleanly either, like every one was forced to leave suddenly (Martin, his grandmother and Timballisto are all enslaved at this point, for example). So Luke only sees the option of going down with the ship.

But I wonder about the first Mossflower revolution under Barkstripe, too...
