I use old (very old) fence wood. Wear leather gloves.

I make hundreds of weapons with metal pieces, wood sticks, and other miscellaneous items. And now I'm thinking of making some more realistic weapons.

I carved a pike for myself our of a long stick using my knife. I also carved patterns into it. But I can't remember where  put it. Oh well.
wooden spoons are great weapons along with frying pans!!!!!!

I've made my own sling before - the pouch was made of a strip of old jeans and the strings were multiple strands of braided yarn (a type of braid that requires four strands, not the usual three).  It worked pretty decently.  I wasn't all that good at aiming, though.  Probably needed longer strings, I'm thinking.

On that note most girls will use there hairbrush as a microphone I use it as a sword. Most anything that has a good handle can be a sword.
