My Book Idea (Sci-Fi-ish)

My book idea is about a guy in the future who lives on a planet with some gear. This includes stuff like food, clothes, communication, etc. it also includes stuff to help him on his goal. DNA vials, DNA extractors, a futuristic tablet, etc. his goal is to find and catalog the life of the recently found planet. (Its not so far that these planets are a dime a dozen) The book mainly is rh entry, of this guy, and then a encoclopidia/guide/thingie showing all the life forms, habits, and sketches. All of this will be completely original. WARNING: Please don't copy.
