We could almost return right back to the first rules we had in place, given our current member:moderator ratio?

True, we can always try it out and go back if it doesn't seem to work well, or when there are more members.

From what I remember: The very first rules were that the staff zeroed things out (no negative numbers), the members added +1.

The second set added negative numbers, which the staff could subtract from, one at a time. They couldn't be zeroed by anyone. Sometime after the second set was established, I became a "wild" player, always adding to one side, never zeroing or subtracting from it.

The third set added member zeroing, with indiscrimination, so that anybody could zero anything from the other team (this resulted in long periods of only -1s, 0s and 1s).

The finalized fourth set (which I believe was the last set made during my tenure in 2011) added the practice of "naming" members and staff who could zero things. Everybody else would only add or subtract 1 at a time.

After I left, the game was apparently eventually changed to add in different strengths for different levels of staff member, progressing up to roughly the rules we have today. Then Leatho added the bit about the Season Namer being a new wild member on this forum's version of the topic.

We'll try this again, for the fun of it. Let's see how far you'll get. If it gets to mundane, than we'll go back to how it was at the start of this topic.
