-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

I like cupcakes better.  Muffins just are to plain for me. Unles, it a chocolite muffin vrs. a vanilla cupcake. Than muffins win. But I just vote for cupcake. 8)
