-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

It's always too hot where I am. 100 degree summers, 50 degree winters. Miserable here in [US, north of the Gulf of Mexico, on the coast]. I wish I lived in California like I used to, or in North Carolina.
