This is for anyone who has suffered, is suffering, or will suffer from Writer's Block. (Namely, everyone.) Please share your problems with and/or solutions for this terrible affliction.

Right now, I'm really having trouble with my Redwall fanfic. I just can't figure out how a certain scene would play out. Hazel and Starbreeze are Long Patrol hares (Hazel is older, more experienced, and Star is young and hot-headed). Rhys is a vixen. But she's a good guy. She just escaped from a vermin camp where she was a slave, but then she ran right into Hazel's fist. The hares won't kill her when she's unconscious, and they're not just going to wait until she wakes up and then kill her. I don't know how anybeast will act/react when Rhys comes back around.
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight!

I get some writers block when writing. Recently, I have been writing a Redwall story and I can' figure out sometimes what to write.

If you wanna chat, PM me :) I'd love to talk with any of you!

-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

Ugh, I have it too. :P I'm writing this fanfiction, and I know what's supposed to happen next, but I just can't bring myself to write it. :(

I think a good way to avoid writer's block is to plan out the whole story you want to right. You don't need to get every little detail down at once, but just plan the main plot before writing. That should help you allot.

Life is too short to rush through it.

Sometimes you can ask people for their ideas and some inspiration to help you.
But sometimes you don't want others inspiration. I think the best way is to relax, read something (to relieve your brain :P ) and have a brainstorm of all the different alternatives for the scene you want to write. Pick one that you like the best or that you think the reader would love, be surprised about or something. There are so many great things you could do with your scene. For instance, you could begin the next chapter with Rhys waking up tied upside down or something and her thoughts and emotions while the two hares challenge her or get to know her and play it from there.

Hope this helps! :)

well a image in your head can help write a story

Faiyloe

What I do when I am writing a story is I pick a character and play out the entire scenes in my head. I play it as if I am the character feeling the things they feel etc...  I do this for the entire story before I even start writing. That way i have a very detailed idea of story. of coarse I play scenes over and over again till I like them aiding in detail and foreshadowing.
I am back... sort of... maybe... Hi?

Writer's Block is terrible! It's the time I procrastinate on writing the most. DX But there are several different things I do. I might just take a break from the story and go walk outside for a bit or I browse around and look at writing guides. Oh! I also take a few of the characters from the story I'm stuck on and place them in a different senario for a bit. It helps me develop my characters more and it tends to give me inspiration again. Playing around with generators can also help.
If you want a few links;
Here is a website with writing guides and a bunch of generators- http://www.springhole.net/writing/index.html

And here is a guide on DeviantArt to help you "unstick your plot"- http://dragon8writer.deviantart.com/art/Unstick-your-Plot-A-guide-184262121

Hope someone else finds these as helpful as I do!  ;)
