Russina went back over the wall, and ran over to her friends. "Slow pokes! C'mon!"

Reina and her companions left the gate, setting off into Mossflower. The ferretmaid strode along purposefully, keeping a steady pace without slowing. She didn't talk to her companions, just kept her eyes on the ground ahead of her.

OOC: I'm not even sure which way they're heading! I'll leave that up to you, Cornflower, seeing as Russina's the one who knew Creulon's location in the first place.

Anpan kept behind the other two, feeling a bit apprehensive about traveling with two creatures she just met.

[Cornflower MM]

Uh, Reina? It's this way." Russina said gently, looking at her new friend with an odd look on her face. Did this ferret maid have bees in her brain? You could clearly see where Russina had come from. Okay, maybe it wasn't. Russina WAS an experienced tracker, after all, and things that looked plain as day to her were hidden to others.

[Jukka the Sling]

Embarrassed, Reina replied, "Oh." She turned and followed Russina. I wish I wouldn't make these stupid mistakes!

Anpan kept following, doing her best not to giggle at Reina's mistake.

Russina noticed Reina's embarrassment, and said, "Oh, that's not as bad as playing by the river and then tumbling in. And ragging my brother in with me. And then almost getting eaten by a pike. And then washing up on shore about ten paces away from home. And going the oppisite direction. And getting lost for about a season." She nodded sagely. She'd done some pretty stupid things in her life.

"Really? That happened?" Reina asked before she could stop herself. The ferretmaid didn't feel quite so silly about her mistake now, but instead she was surprised at her talkativeness. She kept walking, waiting for Russina's reply.

Anpan remembered the stupid things she'd done, and thoughtfully stroked a small scar on her neck.

[Cornflower MM]

"Uh-huh. What about you, Anpan? Have any stupid stories you could tell?" Russina asked, sneaking a =glance behind her.

[BlueRose]

Anpan laughed. "I could talk about my stupid stories for ages. My brother and I stole... Scratch that, borrowed my da's coracle once when we were kits. We tried to take it out to sea. Da' found us after three days, hungry and thirsty. He was very angry."  She stooped to look at a patch of ferns before continuing. "A half-season after that, my brother decided that we ought to go to Salamandastron. We got lost, and were found by a family of squirrels, who then had to take us back to the holt. Da was even more angry that time."

"Wow! Looks like all of us does stupid things from time to time." Russina said, skipping along happily.

[Jukka the Sling]

Reina had to smile in spite of herself as her companions talked about the ridiculous things they'd done. She wished she could be more like them - friendly and cheerful, rather than shy and depressed. Her satchel strap started slipping off her shoulder and she adjusted it again, her thoughts turning to what lay ahead.

The ferretmaid and her companions traveled fast with barely any breaks. It was early evening when Reina spotted some creatures in the distance. A large group of them. "Uh, do you think..." she began, hardly daring to believe it was what they were looking for.

[Cornflower MM]

"Why'd you stop, Reina? Oh, wait here. Let me check this out. I can climb trees, and who expects someone to be spying from a tree? Plus, I can be there and back within two shakes of a cats whiskers." Russina said, then started shrugging off her pack and approaching a tree. "Anyargumenyts?" She asked, looking back at them, her pack off.

Anpan shrugged and settled herself under a nearby bush to wait.
