Anpan drew her blade and sped toward the vermin encampment with her friends, fervently hoping that they managed to get out of this alive. The ottermaid had never killed anybeast before.

Reina ran along with her friends, her heart pounding wildly. She brandished her borrowed rapier, yelling at the top of her lungs. The vermin were aware of their presence anyway, so there was no need to maintain silence. Besides, most of them were occupied in putting out the flames.

Dashing into the burning camp, the ferretmaid ran right into a skinny weasel. He was armed, but was totally unprepared for a direct attack, so she finished him off easily. Glancing around, Reina tried to locate Creulon. "D'you see Creulon anywhere?" she yelled frantically to her friends.

" Over there!" Russina Cried, pointing with her rapier, then chopped off a ferret's head, then pointed again.

Seeing her friends killing vermin with little to no abandon, Anpan cringed a little bit. When a rat attacked her, she realized that killing was not a very scary thing as she wiped her blade off on the rat's fur. Laughing with exhilaration, she flung herself into the fray.

Russina saw a weasel sneaking up on Anpan, and shouted, "Behind you, Anpan!" As she raced over. Then, "Never mind!" She said, having gotten to the weasel. Then she dashed off again.

Reina dashed off after the fox. He saw her coming but stood his ground. She rushed him, attempting to run him through; he parried the blow and retaliated with a vicious swipe at her head. Reina ducked in the nick of time and Creulon's blade barely nicked her ear. She straightened and glared at her opponent, who stood there looking a little nonplussed. Neither made a move, just stood there for a moment, until Creulon broke the silence.

"What do you want?"

Reina gritted her teeth. "Seven seasons ago you killed my family. I barely escaped. Now you're gonna pay!"

Without giving him a chance to reply she rushed him again, managing to score a minor hit. Angrily he whirled around and returned the blow. They went on like this for several minutes, giving no quarter.

The ottermaid hadn't even heard Russina. All she knew was that somehow, this was fun. The fires around her and her enemies crackled savagely, biting at anybeast who wandered too near or was thrown in by Anpan's vicious attacks.

OOC: Anpan is not a nice otter to cross. I think she changed a lot from my original intentions. Don't you hate it when your charries get away from you?

OOC: IKR? Most of my characters aren't very well thought out, and I just have a vague idea of what they'll be like, and then they sometimes turn out quite a bit different from how I expected.

BIC:
Narrowly avoiding another blow from her opponent, Reina lunged and slashed Creulon across the chest. He stepped back a bit, grimacing with pain. Reina watched him warily, for the moment not attacking as she stood still, dripping blood from multiple wounds. Around her flames flickered as vermin ran hither and thither, for the most part not noticing their leader or the ferretmaid. Some did, but not wanting to get involved, ran to help their companions. Russina had done her work well; she'd set about half the camp ablaze, and the flames were spreading despite the hordebeasts' efforts.

Creulon raised his head, asking calmly, "So, why exactly did I kill your family?" He honestly didn't remember, but was trying to bait her, make her fly into a rage and make a mistake. Then he'd have her. But right then he made no move, just stood there questioningly.

Reina stared at him, gripping her sword hilt as she trembled with anger. "For no reason at all. You enjoyed killing them. I was hiding not far away and saw everything." Her deep brown eyes bored into the fox, glaring hatred. If looks could kill, Creulon would have been dead where he stood. But he stayed right there, musing aloud.

"Hmmm, now I remember... They refused to join my horde. Can't imagine why. I had to kill them, show my horde wot happens to those who disobey me." He looked at Reina and realized he was succeeding in his attempt to infuriate her. She was shaking all over with rage. Then with an unearthly yell she ran at him again, her anger giving her an adrenaline rush. She thrust and stabbed wildly, but failed to wound him, as he easily parried each blow. Exhausted, she backed off momentarily.

That was all the fox needed. He dashed forward, seeking to run her through. Reina sidestepped, but Creulon tripped her in a flash. He raised his sword for the killing blow.

With the fox standing over her, Reina's only thought was one of shame, that her family would never be avenged.

OOC: Wow, long post. Okay, so I guess one of you guys can save Reina? And feel free to kill Creulon!

OOC: My charries get away from what I had original planned out on a regular basis. Rather careless of me, no? ;D

BIC: Russina saw what had happened. She was nearby, crossing swords with a particularly skillful ferret. He swiped off her ear, taking advantage of her watching Reina's and Creulon's fight. She swiped his head off, and bounded over his carcass. Ear avenged. She saw the sword coming down, and she flung one of her arrows. It Pinged! Off his sword, and turned it. She was over in a flash. Standing over Reina, she said, "No one kills my friends without permission, dirt face." Then she chopped his head off. She moved, and extended a paw to Reina. "Whoops! I guess I robbed you of your revenge, didn't I? I'm dreadfully sorry." She said sincerely, not noticing the blood dripping down her face from where her left ear used to be.

BlueRose

OOC: Haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

BIC: Suddenly, the rest of the horde stopped still. Anpan, having seen what was happening, froze. She suddenly realized that she was in the middle of a huge group of hostiles, and she was bleeding from multiple cuts littered on her body. "That's gonna leave a mark."

Russina suddenly whirled, slashed a ferret who was sneaking up on her, her blade raised, and the ferret fell down, dead. She turned back around, remarking, "I see that they haven't realized that I have very sharp hearing." Then she suddenly bellowed, "NOBODY MOVE!"

Jukka the Sling

Reina stood up, her thoughts whirling, unable to believe the creature she'd pursued for seasons was finally dead. She glanced at Russina, realizing that her friend had lost an ear. The ferretmaid wanted to thank her for saving her life and killing Creulon - but when Russina dispatched a ferret who had been sneaking up on her and yelled "NOBODY MOVE!", Reina figured then wasn't the time to do it.

She suddenly became aware of the fact that she had blood oozing from several wounds. But she couldn't do anything about it at that moment, as she realized that the horde had finally gotten the fire under control and were now surrounding her and her friends. She looked from Anpan (who was a fair distance away) to Russina. "Now what?"

Anpan waved at her friends. "A little help here? I think I'm going to faint." Now that she had woken up from her bloodthirsty rampage, the fact that she had killed somebeast began to take it's toll. Well, the fact that she was bleeding profusely didn't help either, but that wasn't really the point.

In short, she was about to black out. Not a smart thing to do when surrounded by vermin, but also not really stoppable.

"REina, go help Anpan. Make no sudden moves." Russina said, her eyes behind Reina. What the two of them couldn't see was the giant eagle. Who she knew, and she also knew that he would kill anyone, or anything, in a single, bloody instant.

Jukka the Sling

Confused, Reina wanted to look behind her, but the urgency in her friend's voice convinced her to obey. So she held her rapier in front of her and headed toward Anpan, hoping she and her friends would get out of this whole thing alive.

Reina reached the ottermaid and glanced at her.  Anpan looked worn out and had several wounds. "Um, are you okay?" A lame thing to say, but Reina couldn't think of anything else.
