OOC: Yay, you're back! :D And I changed it. :)

Monka, who had never made bread before in his life, gave Bryony an almost pleading look. But if Bryony told him he had to help, then he guessed he would. Which was quite strange really, Monka hated taking orders from anybody, but he wouldn't doing what Bryony wanted. Odd.............

Bryony got the water and the flour, then turned and asked the cook, "Would you mind if I put a little something extra in the bread? As a small thank-you?"

Monka followed after Bryony, and when she'd stopped talking he said very quietly, "What can I do?"

Back at Redwall, Fern awoke with the morning light streaming through her window. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, vaguely wondering where Mycroft was. Then she remembered the events of the day before and sighed, hoping her husband and the others had found Skipper. She little dreamed that her husband had gone on to Scarlet's island and helped rescue the slaves, and that both Scarlet and Cien were dead. And then her thoughts turned to the plans for the Greenshroud. She was still full of questions about those plans, but forced herself to stop wondering for the moment. She got dressed and went downstairs for some breakfast.

Since the cook and nodded yes, Bryony gad started looking for raisins, nuts, bits of crystallized fruit, anything. She paused, and said, "Well, you could look for something I could put in the loaves.  And if you could find some greensap milk, that would be grreat, please.

rachel25

"Um....ok." Monka had no idea what to put in bread, and he doubted there'd be green sap milk on a corsair ship.

Mycroft and the others were still working to get the logboats onto the ship, but they were nearly done. Only a couple of logboats were left.

Fern entered the kitchens. It was still early, so breakfast hadn't been served yet. Several cooks and some others were bustling around, making scones, porridge, and other breakfast foods. Fern walked over to a young mouse who was making scones (and having a bit of trouble with them) and smiled.

"Need any help?" she asked. Without waiting for an answer, she began helping him.

"Sure," the mouse said, feeling relieved.

"You know what, you stir this slowly, and I'll look." Bryony instructed, inwardly laughing at the confused look on Monka's face.

rachel25

"Ok....." Monka smiled shyly, walking over slowly.

Bryony handed Monka a spoon, (Actually she handed it to his general direction) and then started rummaging in some small cupboard type things.

Monka took the spoon, and held it like it was a poisonous snake.

Finally, Mycroft and the others finished loading the boats and boarded the ship. They raised the anchor and within a few minutes had set sail again.

Fern and the young mouse soon finished the scones and put them in the oven. "Well, that's done," the Abbess said brightly, looking around to see if there was anything else she could help with. She didn't often cook, but when she got the chance she enjoyed it.

Sister Lupine woke up, and yawned. She saw the sun creeping underneath the curtains, and smiled, a rather thoughtful smile. Maybe Mycroft, and the others would come back today.

Bryony came back with a pawful of crystallized fruit, which she, or Monka, would chop small, and saw that Monka was holding the sppon like it was a poisonous snake. "Oh, dear." She murmured, putting the fruit down and taking the spoon. "Here, this is how you hold it. If I have to tell you how to stir, however, I may just boot you out of the galley." She said half jokingly as she showed him the correct paw position.
