If we're talking about the audiobooks, here's the songs I love best:

Outcast of Redwall - Bryony's seasons song and "Home Returning"
Loamhedge - "Dawn"
High Rhulain - the one about the bees, and the otterclans' war song

But my all-time favorite is "Kroova's Song" from Triss.

Were days that long, was grass so green,
in seasons of youthful desire?
Roaming o'er seas of aquamarine,
where western suns drowned in fire.

Across mountains, forest, and river,
I'd wander carefree and bold,
Never heeding the days to come
When I'd wake up slow and old.

Oh how the silent summer noon
warms dusty memories,
In an orchard amidst my dreams,
'neath verdant, shadeful trees.

Come visit me, you little ones,
hear stories, songs, and rhymes,
A roving warrior's saga
of far-gone, golden times.

It was a very little song by a mole in one of the books:
"H'o a bumbly bee be a wunnerful burd,
He'm sing a song that you'm never hurd,
H'o a fuzz buzz fuzz buzz fuzz buzz buzz,
That's all he'm ever does does does!"

I also like the songs in the beginning of each of the 3 books in Rakkety Tam
"Rakkety rakkety rakkety tam,
The drums are beatin brae.
Rackety rakkity rakkity tam,
Are ye marchin off tae war?

A warrior from the borders he came,
A buckler o'er his shoulder,
A claymore swingin' at his side,
There's no' a beast who's bolder!

O Rakkety Tam has sold his sword,
Ah scarce believe he's done it.
He swore an oath untae a fool,
Who took his pledge upon it!"
I made up my own tune to that one. I also did that for the searat's ballad in the beginning of Pearls of Lutra, and a couple in Marlfox. It's fun, but I found myself sort of making it like the theme tune in the video, and I don't want that.

Log-a-Log

I like all the different marching songs throughout the books- they all have a very good rhythm

The Corsairs ballad from Pearls of Lutra and the song from the Abbot's dream
High or the hills, far or the seas,
Fly with the small birds and follow the breeze,
Go with your heart, where would you roam?
Back to the rose colored stones you call home.
Where faded summers will echo again,
Brown autumn trees, or the springs gently rain.
Shadows are falling cross woodlands you know,
Rest weary one in the warm firelight's glow.

And the song about summer that Mariel sings in Mariel of Redwall. A couple more come to mind too. Like the one in Rakkety Tam.

"Rakkety rakkety rakkety tam,
The drums are beatin brae.
Rackety rakkity rakkity tam,
Are ye marchin off tae war?

A warrior from the borders he came,
A buckler o'er his shoulder,
A claymore swingin' at his side,
There's no' a beast who's bolder!

O Rakkety Tam has sold his sword,
Ah scarce believe he's done it.
He swore an oath untae a fool,
Who took his pledge upon it!"

And too many other to mention. I have quite a few memorized and tend to sing them often. They're the type of songs that tend to come to mind when they suit the moment :D

More of like a poem....
To where they will go,
This is a secret nobeast may know
                                                       Marlfox!
Plundering murdering vulpine thieves,
Who blend with stone or meld with leaves,
                                                                    Marlfox!
See the pale eyes and swirling cloak,
appear like nightmare,
Vanish like smoke.
                                                                                 Marlfox!
What steals upon the silent air,
Gleaming fangs, Mottled fur,
A deadly axblade lying there                                                    Marlfox!

Nobeast living can hide from thee,
O thou who treads invisibly,
Cross hill and vale through woods and rocks.
                                                                                                               Marlfox!
                                                                                                                      Marlfox!
                                                                                                                             Marlfox!

Me, I'd say the song 'Winter O',  by Mariel.

"The Winter O, the Winter O,
With cold, and dark, and driving snow,
O not for me the Winter O,
Me friend I tell you so.
In Spring the winds do sport and play,
And rain can teem down anyday,
While Autumn oft is misty grey,
My friend hear what I say.
When Summer sunlight comes each morn,
The birds sing sweet each golden dawn,
And flowers get kissed by every bee,
While shady stands the tree.
The Summer O, the Summer O,
Amid it's golden peace I go,
From noon to lazy evening glow,
My friend I told you so!"

That is one of my favorites but there are too many to pick a favorite.

I absolutely LOVE this one. Completely and utterly. I want to hear it sung in every possible tune by every single voice in the world. Love it.
Redwall is always open, its tables laden, to you and any of good heart.

Nightfire

Well, I'd sing it to you, but 'tis impossible to do over the internet. Och, such complications.   :D

Alas! Maybe I can get somebody on youtube to do it... Hmm. XD But, er, back to the topic, of course.  ;) How about that heave-ho song in Legend of Luke? The one Trimp sings while the abbey beasts are hoisting up a beam of some sort to build the dormitories. I always imagined it to have a catchy marching tune. Will quote it once I've got the book in front of me, here...

Actually, if you type in "Songs from Redwall, Winter O" then it will come up on youtube. You should try it. Back in subject, another favorite song of mine is "Kroova's Song"

"There's many a patch that I ain't trod,
Nor ever been before there.
An' yet it seems as close to me,
As some ole coat I've worn, sir.
Some streams an' rivers, rocks an' fields,
That I have come upon, sir.
I'm seein' them for my first time,
Yet I know every one there.
Now was I here ten seasons back,
Did I sit 'neath that tree there?
An' if I pass this way agin,
Then will I meet myself, sir?"

That's the song that Nimbalo sings to Deyna in The Taggurung. I always loved it. I get that feeling of Deja vu all the time. :)

I looked up this song after hearing you gush about it, and I wasn't disappointed! Now I love it too. I sang it for you, but I guess you didn't hear me on account of us being on opposite sides of the world. Oh well!

Everyone should check out nijibug's YouTube channel. She's recorded 13 minutes of Redwall songs in a very fine voice.

Though I'm not much of a singer, I recorded my own rendition of The Battle of Boiling Water sometime last month. (Most of my videos are obscure traditional songs, some of which are quite obscene, so I caution anyone who goes poking around my channel.)

That's okay. I sung it for you too. I guess we were of a like mind. :) I love the tune.
