That moment was one of the Redwall moments that made me feel really sad.
Anyway, my favourite song might be one of Clecky's.(Pearls of Lutra)

Yea same here. I like to make random tunes up when I read the songs in redwall. I think of the rakkety tam song as more of a chant/poem though

I think of all of them as chants or poems, even though I know they're mostly songs. I've never been any good at making up tunes! I agree with you though, this one in particular goes best as a poem.

Speaking of poems, my favourite is that one about Mariel. I learnt it by heart when I was in fourth grade because I really liked it. Let's see if I can remember it...

The sun has sunk into his vest,
If he don't bathe before too long,

lol I just read that part yesterday actually. Boorab one of my Favourite hares I like Tarquin a bit ,ore though never really sure why. (spelling? Haven't read mariel in a long time,)
