Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

Bitterly jittery, and not very glittery.

Rusvul

Kind of. I'm learning things, but I'm not proficient in any way. Although I've made some darn cool stuff :D

That's cool. Is it like Wizard?
Not at all, past that it's an MMO. It's almost entirely PvP, for one, and it's creature or minion-based, rather than spell-based. Although if you're a Rogue, a Priest, or a Mage you'll be doing quite a lot of casting. (Any type of ability is classed as a spell, so Rogue is heavy on casting.)

A fairly good overview video is this one, although, as its name would suggest, there is probably some amount of swearing in it. Just a warning. The guy who made it, though, is in general a very good and accurate game reviewer. He can also be hilarious.

Cool.
Have you taken any classes on Damascus making?

I have not. Although, my teacher made a SPORK out of damascus.

I kid you not.

BlueRose

SPOOOORRRRKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's Damascus?

If I'm not mistaken, it's a type of steel with layers of high and low carbon steel folded tightly on each other.

The Skarzs

Ah, it is the crème de la crème of blade metals.

It is made of layers of different layers of metal forge-welded together, folded, and welded again to create a piece of metal containing the strengths and malleability of the metals contained.
So, 1040, 1060, and 1080 mixed will make a good steel.
4143, 1075, and 1080 will also make a good one.

That's cool! Why would one make a spork out of it?

(Sorry, it's late and I'm feeling like asking stupid and inane questions. Feel free to ignore them.)

Because it looks freaking awesome. Look up Damascus steel right now.

Because he's awesome. I mean, he had already made a head-lopper and lots of knives, so what else did he need? A handy eating utensil. A fancy one. XD.

I'm making a pretty cool thing. It's like a mechanical wristbladeish thing. Think, a dagger with two sepera... Y'know, there's no way I'm going to do it justice with an explanation. Let me just draw up a horribly ugly yet effective diagram real quick...

BlueRose

That is insanely pretty. It's nearly macabre pretty.

Y'know what? I should go to bed. I'm going to bed before I get even weirder.

The Skarzs

Naw, stay. I'm beginning to get slap-happy from being up late as well.
I have an idea for a nasty blade. Imagine a non-spring loaded assassin blade (I really don't get how effective it supposedly is) on the top of the hand instead of underneath. Like a huge push dagger.

Okay. Here's my diagram. Not the prettiest thing- Certainly not as pretty as Damascus steel- but it should convey the point.

Much brainstorming and little actual work has gone into this. But it's going to be awesome- I'm going to add some steampunk things, if I can manage it  ;D

EDIT: On a completely unrelated note,

MOONQUEST!

I've literally listened to this song at least seven times today. Probably more.

BlueRose

My mom would have killed me for staying up any later than I did. :P

That looks cool, Rus!
