Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

The glacier slides slowly, slowly, downwards. You can't tell but you know it is. The sun shines off the ice, making it sparkle. Looking at this scene makes you realize that the simplest things in life are the most beautiful.

Ooops, sorry. That's a lovely description, Amy! Simple and sweet. Sweet and simple? I'm never sure which one comes first....

Cool, sometimes. Sometimes bleary.
Sometimes warm, and sometimes weary.

Summer's scorching, Winter's cold.
Autumn the purging of the old.

Spring, the growth of life again,
Through summer and autumn-
Red apples, gold grain.

The seasons spin, round, to the other's rebirth.
Forever to turn, 'til so stops the earth.

The Skarzs

I watch the seasons all pass by,
As I sit unmoving under the sky.
A troll of stone, no more than a rock,
Here I watch all life go on.

Spring brings flowers that grow at my feet,
All prettily colored and smelling so sweet.
A brook babbles by on it's unending path,
And still I watch all life go on.

The summer sun beats down from above,
White rabbits frolic in fickle young love.
A dragonfly flies over the little cool brook,
Still a troll, watching life go on.

Fall winds cause leaves to fly away,
Twisting and fluttering all through the day.
A late fish jumps in the rapid little stream,
While the troll still watches on.

All life seems still during cold winter white,
Across the land hardly a creature in sight.
The brook lies still, frozen through and through,
And I still watch all life go on.

It progresses through each season. :P
Cave of Skarzs

Cave potato.

Let me try my hand at describing winter.

The leaves are gone from the trees.
White, pillowey clouds of snow blanket the earth.
Bitter frost coats the fences, outdoor patios, and garages.
The sun is masked behind thick, heavy clouds.
Beautiful fractals of frost paint the windows and delight the children.
Fear not, the cold has not kept us from having fun.
All around you, kids wake up and look eagerly out the window.
They see winter's work and they shriek with joy.
Their feet thump the floor as they rush to get their winter gear.
Coats, scarves, gloves, hats, earmuffs, boots, snowpants.
Barely containing their excitement, they rush out into the wonderland.
Building, packing, rolling, throwing
The children have made winter a wonderful time.

That was really hard to write, since I live in Minnesota and we just got a nightmare of a winter.

BlueRose

Oooh! It sounds so real!

Lucky you. I'm in Texas. We don't HAVE a winter. We have summer, summer #2, autumn, and pre-summer.
