Who here plays (or has played) any of the Myst games? I'm playing through Exile currently, and I just finished the single player bit of Uru. I'm also trying out End of Ages.
Myst is the best puzzle game EVER!!!

Isn't Riven part of the Myst series?
Hey you! What? Expecting a great quote or some heart-warming poem? Too bad, my signature is just boring. Stop reading it. Stop it. Why are you still reading it?

Yes. I just stated Uru separately because it's different.

It IS a rather old game- Doesn't it work by crossfading into another screen, rather than letting you walk around first-person style?

Emperor Ublaz

The first 4 worked like that. Then Uru came out, with it's real-time playing style. People obviously liked that, because Myst V has the older, screen-fade style and real-time exploration options.

The reason Uru's style of play was different was the fact that it was originally meant to be an online game. After completing the single-player adventure, you would be able to go down to the underground D'ni City and meet thousands of other Myst fans  ;D. However, due to numerous bugs, Uru Live (as the online version was called) was shut down. It was recently fixed and released as an open-source game.

Wow. I really rambled there.

Anyway, Myst fans must have liked the real-time exploration feature of Uru, so Cyan put that feature into their last Myst game, End of Ages.

I've got Myst, through my Dad, but unfortunately he lost the disk. I really wanted to play it, too.

You can probably order a new one. There's a newer version of the first game (better graphics, possibly real-time play) that came out a few years ago. Also, there is a Myst game for the Nintendo 3DS.

It broke.  :'(.

Actually it never installed. My computer can't run the older windows games, and Myst falls into that category.

I heard its based on a book series. Isn't it about dimensions? I think I might read it soon.
