Boris picked up the book. "What is this now?" he said, examining it. "Some sort of book?"

Most of the book was written in an unintelligible language however another hand picks up the writing after the last page in the common tongue

The chief druid calls this the Last Book, he says it will be the last book the druidic order writes before it is lost forever. I do not see how this can be, the druids have been around since the dawn of time and their teachings have never changed. The chief says this book is to remain unfinished so I have taken it as my journal, I shall document the last days of the druids before they are lost.

The writing picks up again on the next page

The chief druid has been acting odd, locking himself in the inner sanctum and isolating himself from everyone else. When we have attempted to talk to him through the door, he seems not to hear us but we hear him, chanting in archaic languages. There are occasionally explosions and the sound of thunder, we have heard the word "Nidhoggr" many times yet the druids remain faithfull. If Ygdrassil wills it, the chief will come back to us.

The next page holds only a few lines of writing

The chief druid has replied to our calls through the door, he said he wishes to talk to us and he will meet with us in the chamber of life!

The next page seems to pick up long after the other left off

It was a trick, a ploy! The druids have been massacred, had I not hidden underwater when it happened I would have gone with them. It seems that the chief druid had been dealing with a creature claiming to be Nidhoggr out of the druid's myth! In return for its freedom, it has granted the chief druid unimaginable power though I doubt very much that it is the real Nidhoggr, it is obviously a very powerful creature.

Apparently the chief druid has known I was here all along, he just enjoyed watching me waste away since I finally succumbed to drinking from the chalice. He has informed me that if I am clever enough, I will be able to work out the puzzle to allow entry to the inner sanctum and the answer is hidden somewhere in this passage on the wall. The puzzle has six statues, one for each symbol of creation and numbered gaps where one may fit a statue, it is unclear which statue goes where however, but apparently it is hidden in this teaching.

My strength is failing, it feels like I have aged a hundred years in the span of just ten, I cannot work out the answer and I am tired, ever so tired, I believe I must go now to the long rest, I shall embrace death as a friend as it is a small mercy at this point.

After that there is no more writing.

-Drink from the chalice

-Go back

OOC: I hope I haven't made the puzzle too hard, the numbered gaps are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. This only matters if you can find the boss door however

Cath Took the Chalice and promptly dumped the liquid in the lake. "Can't have any beast drinking that can we, Wot. The thought, not being able to eat! Horrific!"

Boris banged his head against the wall. That idiot! They could have found a use for it later, but now any chance of that was gone. "'ares, eh?" he spat darkly turning back around to face the others. "Always thinkin' with yer stomachs, aren't ya? Did it ever occur to ye that we could have found a use for that? But now you've dashed any chances we might have had of finding a use for it! Stupid rabbits..." He turned back and sat down with his back against the wall. "So," he said. "Now what do we do?"

"I, sir, am a hare, not a bally rabbit! The very thought," She harrumphed "and I think with my head not my stomach, wot. I had to make sure none of you drank the vile stuff, we couldn't have that could we, would have caused chaos and fighting and out right mutiny. No it is better to get rid of the tempting stuff, wot... not that I see why you would want it after what happened to the mouse.,"  She said sticking her nose in the air and straitening her uniform.

"Could've fooled me, rabbit," Boris muttered, staring back at the lake. If we had anymore of that stuff I'd shove it down her gullet, Boris thought darkly. See how she likes it then!

Never minding what the "rabbit" was doing, Boris went straight- his mind filled with dark thoughts.
