Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

Bitterly jittery, and not very glittery.

Accepting his cuffing gracefully, Randoll bowed his way out of the conversation and went to another part of the orchard.

Sssssshunk! A pear hit the ground, impaled.

Graywing smiled, and played along. "Why, no, Diana! What have they done now?"

Edraithel

"They've escaped from their bath. The little ruffians!" Diana said as she stood with paws akimbo.

Vera cleared her throat to get Diana's attention and looked towards the dibbuns behind the Abbess. Diana took on her meaning and she said in a clear voice so Perkins and Mary could hear.

"It's a shame that Perkins and Mary won't be getting any of the apple turnovers and strawberry cordial that all the other good dibbuns will be getting."

This ploy was to much for the dibbuns and they jumped out from behind the Abesses' skirts saying, "You'm gurt bullies. We wanna apple turnaover too!"

With one swift motion Diana scooped them up and held one under each arm. "Well now it's to the bathes with you two. Excuse me Mother Abbesses."

The miscreants howled in protest at being tricked.

Vera saw this as a good time to mention to the Abbess her plans of taking Kitty to go and look for this legendary fruit.

"Mother Abbess, Ingrid here has asked me to go umm... questing shall we say, for a special ingredient that she requires for the summer feast. With your blessing I'd like to take Miss Jubilee along with me."

The young otter looked at Vera in consternation. There was no need of the Abbess' blessing as far as her participation was concerned! However, Jubilee decided it would be in her best interests to stay silent.

Graywing had smiled at the Dibbuns' capture, but when Vera addressed her, she was silent, and started mulling it over in her mind. "We-e-e-ellll...." She said slowly, then continued, "Alright. But you mustn't take too long, alright?" She said, then added another condition. "And you must take at least one other beast with you. There's safety in numbers, after all."

"Hurr 'ow bout Randoll?" Ingrid suggested.

Vera nodded. "Well we could ask him. Never know what that fellow is thinking though. I believe he went off somewhere else in the orchard."

Vera went off to find Vera and Ingrid excused herself from the small group to go and take care of preparing the evening meal.

Mother Abbess smiled, happy that she'd settled that quickly. Then she started off to go see if Diana wanted any help with the little rascals.

Jubilee bowed her thanks to the Abbess before heading off into the wild blue yonder, in other words, her bougainvillea hideout.

Finally becoming a little bored with his practicing, Randoll sat down and began putting resin on his bowstring. A well taken-care of weapon saves lives on a regular basis.

Vera came upon Randoll.

"Randoll how would you like to come on a bit of a quest with Kitty and I? Ingrid found this old poem mentioning a fruit that is supposed to be unbelieveable, she begged me to go in search of it and I invited Kitty to come along as well. There is said to be a snake that guards the tree that is grows on.We could use a good archer like you if'n there is a serpent at the end of our route. So what do you say?"

Randoll answered without looking up. "Sounds interesting. When do you plan on departing?"

"Tomorrow morning would be best. We'll be packed and ready to go midmorning."

Nodding, Randoll stood and unstrung his bow. "Alright. I'm game. Are we bringing anyone who has any idea how to cook?"

Vera smiled winking, "Recently Ingrid has been teaching me some tips and tricks in the kitchen. She's I'd make a great cook someday."
