Ah but he did live though several Adder bites didn't he, after going into a sort of comma. I'm not saying he had a gold stripe because he was a honey badger, but it is an interesting point. It is possible he is a honey badger.

I don't think Honey badgers have any stripes they have a solid white back.

 I don't actually think it's genetically possible for badgers of any kind to have gold stripes. That'd be like... a golden panda, or a golden squirrel.
