OOC: Can we time-skip a bit while they sleep?

OOC Sure. You dc O it.

Garth woke early; Arya was still asleep. (OOC: That okay?) Standing up to a slight crouch under the rock outcrop, he went out from under it and stood in the rays of the rising sun. Stretching, he looked out over the soaked grounds all around him; over to the west, there was something like a hole in the ground in front of a thick marshy forest. The male squirrel was curious as to this strange formation; before he started walking, he arranged some stones in the shape of an arrow for Arya to follow should she awake. He went the three hundred yards to the hole, peering over the edge. Garth recoiled in horror when he saw what was inside: the bones of all kinds of creatures filled the pit to the halfway point; moles, mice, squirrels, shrews, and countless vermin. He stepped back a pace, bumping into something that. . . hissed. Turning quickly, Garth had just enough time to cry out and see more than thirty lizards and salamanders standing silently all around him before he was hit hard by a large lizard with a stone club in the head, and he blacked out.

OOC. Fine.

Arya woke up to breath on her face. She lunged forward, her fist connecting with somethung. Going with adrenaline, she punched another lizard before they knew what was happening, and going after another one. Then they started ganging up on her, making a pile, and the squirrel blacked out.

Garth woke up slowly, his head throbbing in pain. Opening his reddened eyes, he looked around. Through a haze of smoke, Garth saw what looked like a stone statue of a lizard. Or, was it a bird? The squirrel shook his head and looked closer. The head and arms of a lizard were attached to the body of a bird, probably an owl, with the talon-clawed feet gripping a branch and the wings extended. Lizards and salamanders danced around it, and Garth strained to hear what they were saying. Sorcat? No. . . Sooruchat. He tried to bring a paw to his head, which ached like it had been used as a drum, but he couldn't. He found his legs wouldn't respond either. Garth began to panic, wondering if he had been paralyzed, but then he realized his limbs were bound so tightly they couldn't be moved at all. Twisting his head, the squirrel searched for Arya. He was tied to a tree, his arms bound above his head, and Arya was on the tree right next to him, bound in a similar fashion. "Arya!" Garth hissed, hoping she would awake.

Arya lunged forwards, as her name woke her up. She jerked back, tied. She groaned,  the pain catching up to her. She looked over and saw Garth, also tied to a tree. "Are you alright? I did my best." She asked.

The Skarzs

"As good as I probably could be, provided the circumstances. What about you?" Something stung at his nostrils, and Garth saw a copper dish holding some burning. . . stuff. . . at his footpaws, and one at Arya's. He wrinkled his nose.

"Considering I had I don't know how many lizards on me, ab dc I was fighting with this leg, fine." Arya said, then wondered if she could kick the thing with the foul smelling stuff.

The Skarzs

The big lizard that had knocked Garth out went up to them, shaking the stone club and hissing at them to be quiet. Garth glared at him, seeing he had his axe strapped to his back, but said nothing, knowing it would only worsen things.
Suddenly, a voice in the branches above them caused Garth to look up, but he saw nothing. "Okay, you two: if you want to live you're going to have to listen to me. I can help, but you're going to need to deal with a little bit of anxiety and suspense."
"Who are you?" Garth asked.
"Just stay quiet. I'm going to cut the ropes tying your legs, and when I say 'Now', you will both kick those braziers over. Understand?"
"Yes."

Arya was Conde ting trying to kick the lizard, who she noticed with satisfaction had a big bump on its jaw, when she heard the voice. She nodded, waiting.

The Skarzs

Garth heard a sound as the creature dropped from the branches behind the trunk he was tied to. The noise of a knife cutting through his bonds made him look around carefully; the lizards were going into a strange formation. "Almost done?" he asked anxiously.
"Yes; now I'm going to help your friend."

Arya head that, and hissed, "I have a name, you know."

The Skarzs

"Well, I don't know it, love. Now stay still."
The lizards were now coming toward them, chanting and shaking sticks and other implements, including several stone knives which did not look like table utensils.
"Now?" Garth said through his teeth. "They're getting closer."
"Just wait until I say; be ready to kick and run!"

Arya spluttered in indignation,  highly offended that he, whoever He was, had called her 'love'. He was so going to pay after tjis.

The lizards were now only ten feet from the squirrels, and coming closer.
"Now!" Garth kicked, and the bonds broke free. The brazier in front of him was knocked over, spilling it's contents everywhere and causing smoke to spread everywhere. He fell from the tree, looking for the lizard with his axe. The creature in question was hissing in displeasure as he peered hopelessly through the smoke, and was unexpectedly knocked down by Garth, who tore the axe from his possession.
"You idiot!" the voice cried. "Just run! I'll get the rest of your belongings!"
