OOC: ::) ;D I see what you did there. . . BTW, do you mind if we do a little time-skip after they finish eating?

BIC: Garth chewed through a scone and remembered Bella, the kind mouse. He wondered how she was doing, and he chuckled.

OOC Not at all.

BIC Arya raised an eyebrow. "What's so funny?" She asked, then popped the last bite if a scone in her mouth.

The Skarzs

"Oh, I can still picture Bella bossing vermin around like naughty little ones, doing the laundry, the dishes. . ." He took another bite through his smile.

Arya laughed. "I can see her doing it! I'm going to miss her." She said, a bittersweet smile on her face. "But we'll visit soon. "

The Skarzs

Garth's smile disappeared when Arya said those last words; he had never gone back to anywhere. He gulped his food and washed it down with some water. "Well, let's keep going."

OOC: TIME SKIP!

BIC: Garth and Arya stopped in a clearing with a few scattered rocks, and the male squirrel made a small fire. "Do you mind taking first watch," he asked.

"No, not at all." Arya said, settling herself comfortably  against a rock. But not too comfortably.

The Skarzs

"Thank you, Arya. Wake me when you get tired," Garth said, settling back.

"Alright." Arya said, then smiled. Shed wait until she couldn't keep her eyelids open any longer. Garth needed the extra sleep.

The Skarzs

Garth closed his eyes, sure that Arya would wake him when she needed him.

OOC: Feel free to do so whenever. ;)

L OOC time skip?

BIC. Arya finally decided to wake Garth up. It was about twelve thirty, and she just couldn't keep her eyes open. She went over, and called his name quietly.  "Garth? C'mon, your turn."

The Skarzs

Garth blinked and stretched. "Thanks; you go ahead and get some sleep now." He poked at the embers of the fire with a stick, throwing some small dry pieces on to keep it going at least a little bit.

"Alright. . . " Arya said, then yawned. She moved over to some moss, and fell asleep.

OOC So, when are you going to put your mysterious plan into action?

The Skarzs

OOC: As soon as Arya falls asle- oh, good.

BIC: Garth stood up and walked around to rid his body of sleep. Stretching and jumping, he succeeded in his efforts. Suddenly, he heard a noise in the rocks behind him, and peered into the darkness to try and see what was there. Grabbing his staff, he went toward the source of the noise. His paw stepped on something that felt a bit like cloth. Bending down, he felt the coils of rope in his paws. How did. . . ? The squirrel was trapped in a headlock and had his legs kicked out from under him. Garth dropped his stick as he tried to pry away at the crushing arms around his neck. After some time of struggling, he flailed his paws desperately for something to grab and attack his aggressor, but he could only touch smooth, large rocks. His vision and thoughts were blurring, and he called for help, but all that came out was a soft, hoarse "'Rya!"
The last thing he heard before he blacked out was an annoying voice whispering in his ear. "Don't worry about her; Arya will be safe with me."

Bren had dragged Garth into the woods and tied him to a tree. He pulled a dagger from his belt and raised it, hesitating. He closed his eyes as he swung, and the dagger stuck in Garth's shoulder and into the tree. Letting go of the fixed blade, he convinced himself against the fact that he couldn't bring himself to kill the squirrel. "Bah, heh, I meant to miss, yeah; it's not like he'll escape before he dies, anyways." He patted Garth on the cheek. "Sleep well!"
He went back to the squirrels' camp, and stared at Arya until morning. When it was light, he woke Arya.
"Hey, wake up!"

Arya heard his voice, and knew it wasn't Garth, . She lunged up, and her paw found his throat. Looking around quickly, she could see that Garth wasn't around. "Where the Hades I'd Garth and what did you do to him?" She growled, looking truly scary.

The Skarzs

"Easy, pretty one; I happened by here last night and Garth said I could stay until the morning." Bren continued to spin his tale. "He woke me up and told me to stay here until he came back because he remembered an apple tree back in the woods and he wanted to pick some. He also mentioned that you should get travelling again if he wasn't back soon, and it's been quite a while; I figure there's quite a few apples." He winked at Arya. "I guess I'll be protecting you until he gets back."

Garth woke up painfully, an cried out in pain as he moved his shoulder. He looked down at his blood-caked shoulder and the knife sticking out of it. The events of the night before hit him like a ton of bricks, and his blood boiled as Garth remembered who's voice it was that spoke to him. "BREN."
