"What happened?" Garth cried out, his horror showing, but it quickly turned into anger. "Who would do this to you?"

"Wh=who d you th-think?" Arya said, starting to cry. "H-He said to tell you that Bren's not finished yet, n-n0-not by a long shot." She stammered out. "Oh, well done! You remembered it perfectly, beautiful." Avoice said from above their heads, then Bren dropped down from a tree. "Well, it seems my plan failed. Tut tut, Garth! You were supposed to be eaten by the very, very cooperative Flitchaye."

Bren didn't look like he had when they last saw him. His fur was disheveled, his clothes torn and stained. There was something else there; some small lack of rational thought was messing with his mind.
Garth rose to his paws, flames being kindled in his eyes. "You."

"Aye. Me, mate." The squirrel said, casually leaning against a tree, tossing a dagger up and down. He snickered when he saw that Arya was scooting backwards, to behind Garth.

The Skarzs

Garth stepped protectively in front of Arya.
"I told you that if you ever followed us again, I would kill you." His eyes were flaming now, and his teeth showed through his bared lips; the squirrel's paws clenched into tight fists, shaking with rage.

OOC: Not sure if you wanted me to PP the whole fight.

OOC: Yes, please. I don't wanna mess anything up.

BIC: Bren laughed. "Oh, so scary, mate! C'mon, try me for size." Bren then caught his dagger by the handle, and held onto it.

Garth roared, charging directly at Bren, who was expecting it, and side-stepped.
"You got me with that last time; it's not happening again!"
Garth skidded to slow himself down, running up a tree then launching himself off backwards. This Bren had not expected, and caught the full force of Garth's weight as the two hit. They rolled back several paces with Garth landing on top. He slammed his fist down directly where Bren's face had been a moment before, missing just barely and hitting the forest floor instead. Bren had then kneed Garth in the gut, rolling over so that he was on top. Garth managed to catch hold of Bren's paw that held the dagger before the other squirrel could use it. "Let. . . go!"
Garth only growled, kicking Bren off of him and advancing toward the fallen squirrel. Bren stumbled up, tossing a fistful of dirt and leaves directly at Garth before slashing at his face. Garth felt a stinging pain; he rushed forward, pushing Bren as hard as he could into the trunk of a large maple. The other squirrel raised his dagger and stuck it a glancing blow into Garth's shoulder, then raised it again. Garth grabbed hold of the armed paw regardless of the blade and twisted the paw until he heard a snap, droving the dagger into the tree. Bren let go of the handle, cradling his broken wrist for a moment, then aimed a punch at Garth's wounded face. He simply side-stepped the attack, allowing Bren to sprawl on the ground. Immediately, Garth was on him, pummeling the squirrel as he squirmed on the ground before grabbing him in a choke-hold.
Garth's eyes still blazed as if with fire, but his face held no emotion; not pain, not sadness, nor any resemblance of sympathy for the creature he now held choking. The only emotion seen in his face was through his eyes, a burning anger. Bren grasped around desperately for something, anything to grab so it could help free him, but nothing could be found, and his gagging grew more  quickly and sharply. With one last twist, Bren's eyes glazed over, his mouth open and his limbs still rigid from his struggling. Garth let go of the corpse, gasping and shaking as the adrenaline coursed through his veins.
"I told you I would kill you," he whispered, then stood up shakily to go over to Arya.

Arya had been kneeling, transfixed, as the fight had gone on. "Garth. Are you alright?" She asked simply, not talking about his phsyical state, but his mental and emotional state. She had dropped her paws watching, but now brought them up again, ashamed.

The Skarzs

Garth dropped to his knees in front of Arya. "I. . . I don't know. I hope I'm not going crazy. . . " He looked at Arya and held her paws. "It's going to be okay. . . we're alive."

Arya Blinked. "Garth, I promise you yopu're not going crazy. Am I crazy?" She whispered, very much wanting to pull up her hood. "Yes, we're alive. But for how much longer? Don't you remember what he said? /Bren was in league with the Flitchaye."

The Skarzs

"Let's get going, then; northwest."

"Alright. Now, if you'd let go of my paws. . . . " Arya said gently.

The Skarzs

Garth helped Arya up, letting go of her paws as she had requested. He pawed at the bleeding cut going from right his eye to the bottom of his right cheek. "Well. . . at least we match, now."

Arya tuigged her hood over her and smiled sadly. "Ah, but you aren't half-blinded, or have a B on your cheek." She observed, plucking a dock leaf and handing it to Garth.

The Skarzs

"No, I suppose not. C'mon, let's get going before the Flitchaye catch our trail."
