Paradise-Coldplay

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
So she ran away in her sleep
Dreamed of para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Every time she closed her eyes
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
And the bullets catch in her teeth

Life goes on
It gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear, a waterfall
In the night, the stormy night
She closed her eyes
In the night, the stormy night
Away she'd fly.

And dreamed of para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh

She dreamed of para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

La la la La
La la la

So lying underneath those stormy skies.
She said oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
I know the sun must set to rise.

This could be para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
This could be para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

This could be para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Could be para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

This could be para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Could be para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo
Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo

Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach
Dúlamán na farraige, b'fhearr a bhí in Éirinn

Tá ceann buí óir ar an dúlamán gaelach
Tá dhá chluais mhaol ar an dúlamán maorach

Bróga breaca dubha ar an dúlamán gaelach
Tá bearéad agus triús ar an dúlamán maorach

Góide a thug na tíre thú? arsa an dúlamán gaelach
Ag súirí le do níon, arsa an dúlamán maorach

Rachaimid chun Niúir leis an dúlamán gaelach
Ceannóimid bróga daora ar an dúlamán maorach

Gaelic?

Icefire

You got it, Romsca! Here at long last is the translation! (I know you were all waiting on pins and needles! ;) :P )
Let me know if you need further help figuring out the story after this...

Oh gentle daughter, here come the wooing men
Oh gentle mother, put the wheels in motion for me

[Chorus:]
Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed
Seaweed from the ocean, the best in all of Ireland

There is a yellow gold head on the Gaelic seaweed
There are two blunt ears on the stately seaweed
The Irish seaweed has beautiful black shoes
The stately seaweed has a beret and trousers

[Chorus 2x]

"What are you doing here?" says the Irish seaweed
"At courting with your daughter," says the stately seaweed

I would go to Niúir with the Irish seaweed
"I would buy expensive shoes," said the Irish seaweed

[Chorus]

I spent time telling her the story that I would buy a comb for her                <-----I love this verse! :D
The story she told back to me, that she is well-groomed

"Oh where are you taking my daughter?" says the Irish seaweed
"Well, I'd take her with me," says the stately seaweed

Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed

[Chorus]

Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed
Seaweed from the ocean, the best, the best
Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed
Seaweed from the ocean, the best, the best
The best in all of Ireland
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

  Traveling Man - Chameleon Circuit

Travelling man... Such secrets to be told.
Alien man... Running from the days of old.
Out of his world, with nothing left to lose.
Travelling man... Coming down to rescue you.

You're hard to find, Timelord.
Too busy saving everything to stop.

The Travelling Man will save the day.
The Travelling Man will keep you safe.
Even if he has to die five hundred and seven times,
The Travelling Man will save the day.

Waiting so long for something to reprove.
Gallifrey man, all this tragic history.
Such a sharp mind, but broken are his hearts.
Engines in gear, time to put things in the past.

There comes a time, Timelord,
When every boy must learn how to dance.

The Travelling Man will save the day.
The Travelling Man will keep you safe.
Even if he has to die five hundred and seven times,
The Travelling Man will save the day.

Everybody knows that everybody dies,
But nobody knows it like him.
I think all the lights would drain out of the skies
If he ever gave up trying.

Just this once, everybody lives.

The Travelling Man will save the day.
The Travelling Man will keep you safe.
Even if he has to die five hundred and seven times,
The Travelling Man will save the day.

Probably my favorite Chameleon Circuit song.

Called out in the dark-Snow Patrol

It's like we just can't help ourselves
'Cause we don't know how to back down
We were called out to the streets
We were called in to the towns

And how the heavens, they opened up
Like arms of dazzling gold
With our rain washed histories
Well they do not need to be told

Show me now, show me the arms aloft
Every eye trained on a different star
This magic
This drunken semaphore
And I

We are listening
And we're not blind
This is your life
This is your time

We are listening
And we're not blind
This is your life
This is your time

I was called out in the dark
By a choir of beautiful kids
And as the kids took back the parks
You and I were left with the streets

Show me now, show me the arms aloft
Every eye trained on a different star
This magic
This drunken semaphore
And I

We are listening
And we're not blind
This is your life
This is your time

  Shipwrecked - Chameleon Circuit

I believe everything happens for a reason
Why did we end up here?
Chronarchs dead, nothing left, all seems so confusing
Vortex can't just disappear

What happens when all the lights go out?
There's no way back
We're stranded now
What happens when everything goes dark?
It's got no life
Left in its heart

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry
Seems I'm not that clever after all

Now my race, are erased, nothing but the memories
Folktales told through time
Legacy meant to be buried with the Yale keys
And my remaining lives

What happens when all the lights go out?
There's no way back
We're stranded now
What happens when everything goes dark?
It's got no life
Left in its heart

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry
Seems I'm not that clever after all

A green glimmer of hope, we can't let it go to waste
If I give some of my life, we'll use it to escape this place
Where are they running off to? I thought that they would care
Try to keep them safe, they don't know what lies out there

I'm getting old, and I can't carry on
I'm getting old, and I can't carry on
I'm getting old, and I can't carry on
I'm getting old, and I can't carry on

Beautiful song.  Probably my second favorite Chameleon Circuit song.

City on the hill-Casting Crowns

Did you hear of the city on the hill?
Said one old man to the other
It once shined bright, and it would be shining still
But they all started turning on each other

You see the poets thought the dancers were shallow
And the soldiers thought the poets were weak
And the elders saw the young ones as foolish
And the rich man never heard the poor man speak

But one by one, they ran away
With their made up minds to leave it all behind
And the light began to fade
In the City on the Hill, the City on the Hill

Each one thought that they knew better
But they were different by design
Instead of standing strong together
They let their differences divide

And one by one, they ran away
With their made up minds to leave it all behind
And the light began to fade
In the City on the Hill, the City on the Hill

And the world is searching still

But it was the rhythm of the dancers
That gave the poets life
It was the spirit of the poets
That gave the soldiers strength to fight
It was fire of the young ones
It was the wisdom of the old
It was the story of the poor man
That needed to be told

It is the rhythm of the dancers
That gives the poets life
It is the spirit of the poets
That gives the soldiers strength to fight
It is fire of the young ones
It is the wisdom of the old
It is the story of the poor man
That's needing to be told

But one by one will we run away
With our made up minds to leave it all behind
As the light begins to fade in the City on the Hill

One by one will we run away
With our made up minds to leave it all behind
As the light begins to fade in the City on the Hill
The city on the hill

(Come home)
And the Father's calling still
(Come home)
To the city on the hill
(Come home)

:D I actually don't understand much Gaelic...just a line here and there, but I love Irish music! My favorite Irish group is "Celtic Woman" and this is one of my favorite songs from them. (It's not original to them, but it's my favorite version) I'll probably post a video of this later on a youtube thread so you all can here the fun melody that goes with the song! :)
And yes, Dúlamán means Seaweed. :D

  Stayin' Alive - Bee Gees

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
Since I was born.
And now it's all right. It's OK.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.

Well now, I get low and I get high,
And if I can't get either, I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right. It's OK.
I'll live to see another day.

Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me, yeah.
Stayin' alive.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,

Count on me by Bruno Mars, Ari Levine and Philip Lawrence
Uh huh huh

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea,
I'll sail the world, to find you!
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see,
I'll be the light, to guide you.
(chorus)
We find out what were made of,
When we are called to help our friends in need.
you can count on me like one, two, three,
and I'll be there,
and I know when I need it Ican,
count on you like four, three, two,
and you'll be there,
cause that's what friends are s'pposed to do- oh yeah
oo---- oo------ yeah,    yeah.

If you're tossin' and you're turnin' and you just can't fall asleep,
I'll sing a song, beside you.
If you ever forget how much you really mean to me,
Everyday I will, remind you!
(chorus)
You'll always have my shoulder when you cryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Never let go, never say good-byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye.
You know you can,
you can count on me like one, two, three,
and I'll be there,
and I know when I need it Ican,
count on you like four, three, two,
and you'll be there,
cause that's what friends are s'pposed to do,
you can, count on me, cause I can count on you!

This is one of my favorite Manafest songs:

Fire in the Kitchen - Manafest

We got it, we got it
We got it going on
And yo, we got it, we got it
Now march to the drums, yo

We got it going on, 300 million strong
Stop the bombs, love riot in the streets
'Cause smile for the camera, you're in America
No terrors tearing us, we won't surrender up

Benevolent and you know, evidence and we sow
Jump out the boat, go, go
We're singing, we're swinging, we're turning it up
So let me see all your hands, waoh, waoh

I give a shout for the ladies
Men still standing
Grant me a wish and I'll be dancing
Prancing, love romancing

We got it going on
In your America
My America
Oh, America

Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the lights go out
There's fire in the kitchen again
Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the wheels fall off
Oh, we got it goin' on

We got it, we got it
We got it going on
And yo, we got it, we got it
Now march to the drums

I'm not the only one who's ever held a gun
I'd rather shoot some love, Superman, go save someone
They had me on the run, now I'm on the hunt
I gotta have some fun before my time is done

Let's start a riot, a riot, love in the streets
I'm so wired, on fire, no reason to sleep
I can't deny it, I'm flying, higher than trees
So let's spark up the jam, woah, woah

I give a shout for the ladies
Men still standing
Grant me a wish and I'll be dancing
Prancing, love romancing

We got it going on
In your America
My America, oh America

Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the lights go out
There's fire in the kitchen again
Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the wheels fall off
Oh, we got it goin' on, oh, we got it goin' on, we got it

Come on
Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the lights go out
There's fire in the kitchen again
Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the wheels fall off
Oh, we got it goin' on

Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the lights go out
There's fire in the kitchen again
Hey, oh, now we're gonna rock it till the wheels fall off
