Precious and Semi-Precious gemstones

Anyone care about them? I like them. What's y'alls birthstones? Mine's diamond......I recently got a peridot necklace, with a dinky inky diamond in the center. I got happy, because I actually owned something with my birthstone!

And guess what? Our lane is gravel, and one part of it has obsidian in it! Lava rock, not-quite-obsidian, obsidian, even some green obsidian....Does anyone know anything about green obsidian?

Yep; I've seen the stuff. It's pretty cool looking, though I like the red-banded black obsidian better.

Tam, what's the months you two were born in? I can tell you your REAL birthstones.

Yep; I've seen the stuff. It's pretty cool looking, though I like the red-banded black obsidian better.
I've also found a geode, and broke it open.

Red-banded.,..? Okay...That's new. But, seriously, I NEED TO KNOW DETAILS!!! Like, is the green stuff rare? If so, hpow much would it sell for? 'Cause let me just say our two cars are .... Eh...Elderly. (Older than me, in fact.)

  Well, my birthstone's the garnet, a beautiful blood-red gem that I very much adore.  The only garnets I own are two small pieces which are embedded in Black Hills gold, and they are very pretty.

My birthstone's sapphire. I don't think I own anything with a sapphire in it, though. Unless my piercing studs count, but I'm not actually certain if they're fake or not.

Mine's topaz. I have a couple of things with it, but I'm not particularly fond of it. Amethyst is better.

Mine's ruby! I don't have anything ruby... I'm thinking about getting myself something like that for my next birthday. (Next year. Along with the graduation roadtrip I'm taking. Who knows, maybe I'll find something birthstone-y during that!)

Mine's Peridot. I have a ring with something resembling a peridot, tjough I'd have to go to a jeweler to be sure.

Diamond is my stone. Diamond is meh. Valuable, yes, particularly interesting- As gemstones go, no.

It's only semiprecious, so it wouldn't sell for much.

ANOITHER APRIL!!! WITH THE SAME FEELINGS ABOUT DIAMONDS AS I DOOO!!!! I mean - It's just so BORING. It doesn't have any colors! Well, if you're in the habit of slicing things open, then, yeah, sure, it's cool.
