Morning light slipped threw the multicolored glass casting rainbows across the red sand stone floor and up the opposite wall dancing along the tapestry of Martian the warrior. At the base of the tapestry stood a small table and on the table lay the shattered sword of martian the warrior. The blade snapped from the weaker hilt.

... In the battle we lost many including the Abbey warrior and in that fatal fight the legendary sword of Martin the warrior, which had withstood the ages, had been broken. Though in the end The enemy was slain by the young mousemaid Emmeline. The Wolf would kill no more...

"You all know what happened, There are not many of us left and I ask you to go with the the speed of the wind and take the sword to Salamadastron and return with it safely for it is the symbol of our unity and courage. With out it we will surly fall." The abbot stood before the travelers who had been chosen to take the sword to be repaired in the place where it was first made. They had been fitted out for the trip and after the Abbot gave them their instructions he gave them the sword raped in a cloth as they assembled in front of the abbey.

OOC: Ok so if your character would in no way consent to doing this in the way I have described then feel free to have them meet them on the road. However if you think it would work them please start out with the group. @ Rachel: Toka would probably not consent to such an agreement but Seeing that there would be no motivation to go with them if he met them on the road either then I would suggest that he start out with the group. If you can think of something else that would work that's fine too though.

I am back... sort of... maybe... Hi?

OOC: He can met them on the road. By the way, what season is it? Or can we decide that. Its just that the first post I had in mind, depends on what season it is.

Cornflower MM

OOC: I'm thinking Bryant could meet them, like, ten minutes after they set out. That okay?

Bowing her head to the abbot, Ash thanked him, saying, "I'm very honoured to have been chosen for this task, Father.  Rest assured that Martin's sword shall be returned to its home, and that it shall be better than before it broke."

Taking the broken relic from the abbot's grip, she took a moment to wrap some leather around it, forming a makeshift harness.  She put her arms through the loops and tied the ends of the leather together, feeling the blade come to rest between her shoulder blades.  Then, giving a quick prayer that it wouldn't fall off her back and get damaged further, the wildcat turned to her companions and asked, "Ready to go?"

OOC:  Hope you guys don't mind that I took the sword.  And, just curious, who else is in the traveling group currently?  I mean, Ash is (obviously), but who else?

OOC: Well Kogane would meet them on the road because he wouldn't be somewhere like Redwall, he'll probably join because he's interested in honouring the memory of a warrior
"In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system."
"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

OOC: Vatra is defiantly and Corn if it is at all possible could Bryant be in the group originally to even out the numbers. 2 is a rather wimpy companionship. As to the season I was thinking mid spring. Though I really don't care so long as its not winter.

BIC: Vatra did not like the strange company. It made her uneasy but the abbey beasts meant a lot to her and she felt it her duty to see the sword safely to Sallamandastron.  She glanced up at the sun as it mounted the sky. The morning was turning to day and they should be on there way soon but she kept her mouth shut. She did not want to take on any leadership responsibility that might provoke hostility between her and others later. That was best avoided and she would do everything she could to do so. Even if that included staying in the background.

Bryant smiled. "Yup, I'm ready, Ash." He told her, then turned to Vatra. "What do you think, Vatra?" He asked pleasantly.

rachel25

OOC: Ok.

BIC: Toka lay swinging in a makeshift hammock high up in the foliage of a beech tree. He was carving pieces of wood with his dagger into shells. He had no idea why he was doing shells, but he was very good at it.
Who was he kidding, this was boring! He threw the half carved shell away from him, at a nearby branch, then put his dagger away sighing deeply. This was SOOOOOO boring!
At first, the idea of living on his own, relying on himself, had sounded fun. And during the Autumn, and Winter, it had been. But now, there was nothing to do. He'd gone out looking for vermin to fight, but had found nothing.
Toka took a big bite out of a scone he'd stolen from a mouse family who'd been out of the house. It was good, but could have done with coming out maybe two minutes earlier.

"Aye, I'm ready," Vatra said looking across the field in the direction they where headed. She shouldered her food pack and strode over to the ditch that lined the path. Time to get going.

Nodding to her two companions, the Wildfire she-cat walked alongside Vatra, butterflies fluttering in her stomach.  They were actually doing it!  They were going to Salamandastron!  Ash had wanted to visit the mountain fortress ever since she'd heard of it, and now she was getting the chance to see it!

Clearing her throat and trying to settle down, Ash looked back to Bryant, inquiring, "You comin'?"  Then, with a wink and a giddy grin, the wildcat set down the dusty path, trusting her traveling partners to follow.

Brysant grinned in response, and set off skipping after Vatra and Ash, happy to just be alive that day

((OOC: So are we going to take the water rout or go strait threw the field. Seeing as we have no boats and the more direct rout is faster and more dangerous with plenty of RPing opportunity's. I would suggest that way))

BIC:

Vatra turned back and headed down the road to her right was Mosflower and her left the open field and the ditch. Due to recent rains the bottom of the ditch however was completely flooded and washed out . Crossing here was out of the question so down the path they went. Though the path it self was not in a much better shape, it was muddy and there was an abundance of puddles the air was humid and muggy due to the summer rains and the air was just getting hotter as the sun got higher.  "We should head down farther to find a safe crossing," Vatra said pointing at the water logged ditch.
I am back... sort of... maybe... Hi?

Cornflower MM

Bryant wrinkled his nose at the flooded ditch. "I agree." He said, still skipping.

Toka climbed out of his hammock, and sat on a large branch, thinking. Which quite honestly wasn't one of his strong points, but he was trying. Now, what to do................................
