(Paladins are fine most of the time. I've played as one in the past, actually. Being an upholder of the light (et cetera) can be fun, but pallies are REALLY annoying when you're playing a Chaotic Evil character- Polar opposites. Paladins are also fun to make fun of for some reason, I guess it's hilarious when people decide to play Lawful Stupid instead of Lawful Good. Which you're not.)
