 I used to eat passeger pigeons and carolina parakeets, but for some reason the restaurant doesn't serve them any more. Good news though: they say in a couple years mammoth will be on the menu.

Just kidding of course. I am, infact, greatly disappointed that I will never be able to see a passenger pigeon or carolina parakeet. I often wonder if the Americans of the late 1800's didn't care about maintaining animal populations, or if they were simply ignorant of what was happening to their continent until the very end.
