Splinters of my Soul

I am pulled apart by different fractions of myself.
Different opinions, separate beliefs..
Divided, weakened.
Thoughts all meet in the mind to mingle.
Spreading ideas, chatting.
Civilized.
Eventually they start to see the separation.
Confusion, surprise.
Small arguments, disagreements.
But in the time they had spent together in wonder, some had been swayed, now somewhere in between two origins.
New splinters, fresh.
Sharp, bleeding.
The splintering breaks press in.
Cutting, burning.
Scraping, bleeding.
A shattered front.
Outbreaks of war.
War's of ideology.
Doubt in belief.
Unsure, untethered..
The wars converge.
Militant, roaring.
Explosive, loud.
Too loud.
I close my eyes in pain.
Silence rings.
I'm exhausted.
I need to sleep.
You see, from each origin, it is understood that the others cannot exist in the same place.
