Ok, so here's a neat topic: what do you daydream about? Like, maybe about your future, a imaginary world you created inside you head, Redwall, stuff like that.
I mostly daydream about my future and the plans I have IRL. You?

I'm retired from the forum

Maudie

I daydream about when I'll be a published writer. Or a vet. And then I hope to get married and have five sons. ;D

Often about the concept that we might be aliens or something playing a really elaborate simulation game involving a mind wipe and that we die, we'll wake up and say 'Well, that was fun.'

Or about the idea of space travel, which leads to sadness because I know that even if warp bubbles are possible, I won't live to see them. That brings me to a more morbid train of thought, wondering what happens after I die- Do I get to watch humanity go on, and see what happens? Do I get to experience anything at all? Which tends to lead to sadness or horror, as I either transition into thinking about dark things I've heard, or alternately realize that it is overwhelmingly likely that when you die, when your brain shuts down, you are no more, and no fragment of your consciousness remains.

Or I daydream about how IN LESS THAN A WEEK I'LL HAVE AN AWESOME COMPUTER!

I tend to make up random stories that may or may not loosely connect to a book I read, or something I learned, or even something I ate.
Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

Bitterly jittery, and not very glittery.

Rusvul

I probably daydream about egg sandwiches more than I realize. Mmm, I had one today. So delicious.

Me too. That's why I like to write. Cause I want to get my random stories out of my head.

Doesn't seem like your style.

Oh, but it is. Egg and cheese on an asiago bagel, would put bacon on it if I wasn't vegetarian... Egg sandwiches are also good on ciabatta, or sourdough. Probably would go really well with some orange juice...

Turns out, being unable to drink orange juice for months can make you really want to drink orange juice.

The Skarzs

Yep.

I daydream about the book I am writing. . . Often I also dream about blacksmithing and making knives and other metal objects.

Apparently only I have depressing daydreams. Okay. Lucky people. :P

At least they're not all depressing.

Maudie

I've had daydreams where my family died and I had to move in with my uncle in California. I don't know what to think about them. I better be careful what I wish for. :-\

I've also dreamed about getting ebola: Our entire family would catch it, and we would know that each and every one of us was suffering and there is a very small chance of survival.

That depressing enough for you? Or do I need to go into how I've imagined how I could make the lives of my family a living hell if I was so inclined?

Rusvul

Oh. Okay. So I'm not the only one with depressing daydreams, I'm just he only one who decided to post them.

James Gryphon

Well, I have to admit y'all go down some fairly morbid lines of thought. I won't say that I don't, though.

Normally, though, I ponder fairly typical things -- my cat, hockey, music, girls, computer games, that sort of thing.

I sometimes have very vivid images of things going on that last for ages and when I snap back to reality, that's the only time I realise what was going on wasn't real. Like, I wouldn't call them daydreams but they're not real dreams either. When I'm lying in bed and can't sleep I brainstorm ideas for my books and various fanfictions and that eventually happens

Once I also had a thing about my family all dying in a fire, that was terrifying
Also fought a bad guy on top of a tower with magic (playing the part of Wati Raja)
Got hit by a car (can't remember what that was)
Found a blind guy going steadily insane in a cave (playing the part of James Clark)
Flew with wings, that was fun
And more stuff besides
"In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system."
"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

I don't have morbid daydreams, but my real dreams get pretty bad sometimes.
