Sometimes I daydream about a fantasy world I've created in my head. It's very long and intertwined. Involves time tracing, secret medevil stuff, battles in air, ground and sea, and the Borg. But set in medevil times.
Yeah.
I actually just brought it to an epic conclusion just recently.

Oh Sounds cool! I hate endings because once its over you can't go back. I would love to hear more about it though.

I have some very involved deep philosophical dreams (Real dreams)...  :P Once I dreamed I was on the run from the mermaid who evidently wanted me dead, I think I may had potentially accidentally slaughtered her people...(so she had a right to be mad) She chased me all over the world till she finally caught up to me. ( I remember it very vividly). I was siting up to my chest in water and she had a stone dagger to my head. Her face was like stone, resolved and angry. At first I begged for my life trying to convince her that it would be a mistake. But then I grew calm and just accepted it. I remember saying "Do it, if this is the only way that you will be at peace then do it and get it over with," She looked at me with surprise and a little respect then dropped the dagger dove into the water and disappeared.

I am back... sort of... maybe... Hi?

I daydream about art. And writing. And reading. And talking with people. And stuff.

I've had several recurring daydreams, my favourite being when I'm in the car.  See, I live on top of a hill, so whenever I go anywhere, I gotta go down the hill.  But there's a steep drop off right by the road on the way down, where you can see the entire valley from way up high; all the farmland and stores and everything.  It's an awesome view.  Nearly every time I glance out the window to look over the ledge and see the valley, I imagine what it'd feel like to hop out of my seat, throw open the car door, and jump off the ledge, growing wings and gliding down into the valley.

Yeah, other than that one, usually I just let my thoughts wander when doing everyday things like taking the dog for a walk or playing piano.  Imagining that I run into someone famous, or fictional characters, or something like that.  Just the common daydreams, I suppose.  When I used to take horseback riding lessons, I'd imagine that, while walking around the arena, I'd get attacked by a wild animal.  That's one of the more exciting ones.  :P

I'm also known to run possible scenes for fanfics and original stories through my mind, usually when doing chores or showering or something.  When no one's around to listen, I tend to speak the characters' lines so I can practice using different accents.  So... yeah, I talk to myself.  :P

Yah I have that problem with a lot of my stories. I have the tenancy to branch off on much darker plot lines and then realize that they are inappropriate for younger audiences... so I drop them or rewrite them.  :P

If I ever write a book, for the first 2/3 of the book it will be a fairly standard storyline. Bad guy is doing bad thing, good guy has to save everyone, etc... But in the last third, everything will start to go horribly wrong. The super awesome plan the protagonists have to defeat the militarily superior enemy will go wrong, and their stronghold will be burned. Then a few major protagonists will die, followed by the main protagonist. The epilogue will mention how the bad people took over the world, and how everyone lives in opression. And in the sequel, there will be a new hero, a rebel against the government. You know how in lots of storylines that have a rebel faction in them, there has already been a rebellion that's been crushed? The first sequel's rebellion will be crushed. And the second rebellion will too, but only after succeeding in toppling the evil people.

I've always thought it ridiculous how the good guys always win. Main characters rarely die. In D&D, anyone can die at any time. The chosen one, who is the last hope of humanity... If they fail their saving throw for climbing a tree, they could fall and die. It's actually kind of awesome. :P

I'm an idealist. Good will win in the end. Therefore, storylines which I create always have the cliched endings. But they are cliched for a reason: That is, people like Good. Evil, not so much. Besides, I want to read something that makes me hopeful, not depressed.
"'Tis the business of small minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

"Integrity and firmness is all I can promise; these, be the voyage long or short, shall never forsake me although I may be deserted by all men."
-George Washington

Courage: Not only the willingness to die manfully, but also the determination to live decently.

I was going to write the end of my epic, but I might not just in case I do decide to write it.

Yes, yes, I know, I know. But cliched is cliched, I don't like cliched. Personally, I'd rather read a story that ends in tragedy but is interesting the whole way through, then a book filled with tired cliches. But that's just me, preference is subjective.

What I want to know is why bad guys always have the awesome intimidating armor or costumes.
Except for Batman.

Good winning over evil does not have to be boring. Lord of the Rings is my prime example. Probably one of the greatest pieces of literature ever written. Not boring or cliched, yet good does triumph.

I won't argue that.  But are you saying that 'the bad guy wins' is less interesting than 'good always triumphs?' I'm not saying the latter is always boring, but it's certainly used overwhelmingly more often, and... Well, are you ever really surprised that the good guys win? Happy, good-always-triumphs endings are enough of a standard that people are shocked when the bad guys win, and I, for one, enjoy that.

In the first book of my trilogy/duology (haven't decided yet) one of the main protagonist's father is revealed to be the main villain, the other main villain is the leader of a powerful organisation that works with the police force who has been helping them the whole time, the other main protagonist's boss is revealed to be a lesser villain and their apartment complex is burned to the ground. Their victory is simply escape into the wilderness. Sure two more protagonists are added to their group but they have nothing but the clothes on their backs and are the only people who know about this super-secret diabolical organisation

In my story (not sure how many books I'll have for it), which is feeling more and more like a medieval Harry Potter story revolving around dragons instead of magic, the main antagonist is the protagonist's role model and close friend.  He pretty much turns out to be an insane murderer who wants to kill all the supposedly "racist" elves.  He basically snaps under pressure.  Too many people expecting too much of him, and then pointing out that younger (elven) students are already surpassing his skill level.  There's more to it than that, but I don't wanna get too detailed when nothing's set in stone.

Oh, spoiler, by the way.  Though, I don't know that the series will ever be finished, let alone published, so don't worry about it, I guess.  :P
