Sensing the badger's intentions, Jenbean broke cover and ran to where Savil was walking. Slowing his pace to match her's, he chose to make idle conversation. "Looks like that riverbed is't to far off. Wouldn't want to be near it at all, how 'bout you?"

Savil looked around at the desolate surroundings, For the sake of this mission she had taken up an Ion pistol and strapped it to a belt around her waist.  She did not intend to use it but protocol demanded that every member of an away team be armed. A head wind sprung up but she did not make any futile attempts to avoid it.

"Looks like that riverbed is't to far off. Wouldn't want to be near it at all, how 'bout you?"

Savil looked at him quizzically, "That river bed may contain some important clues as to what is going on here. I will not discount the fact that there may be some kind of conspiracy or alien invasion at work here but then again there may be a perfectly decent explanation,"
I am back... sort of... maybe... Hi?

Jenbean mentally chided himself. Of course! He managed a smilee and responded. "Oh, of course. I never realized. It's to bad we can't get a scan, anything in that pit would detect the radio waves."

As the team approached the river bed, Brushdale raised his hand.
"Let's take this slow, we don't want anything to go wrong. Approach with caution."

Jenbean took no chances. He constantly stopped and looked, intent on finding anything that might be hiding.

"We should split up," Joseph suggested. "One group could head to the main bridge, while another could investigate the living quarters."

Casta was the first to reach the riverbed jogging ahead of the rest of the group. it was just that, a empty river with a few plants growing up out of it. As the others arrived Casta saluted Brushdale.
"All clear sir just checked it out, nothing there." He said quickly looking around the barren area. A sudden beeping sounded on his long range comm device. Casta knew who it was and he was trapped. Quickly he turned it off cursing his bad luck silently and hopping the others hadn't noticed.

OOC: Do you want us to notice?

BIC: Jenbean surveyed the sparse area. "Well, not much here. Permission to scout ahead, Commander?"

OOC: Yeah, I thought I had made a post but I guess not.
BIC:
As Brushdale and the others approached Casta's location, they heard a slight noise.
"Are you getting a transmission from the ship Longeye? If not, cut the receiver so you don't get feedback." Brushdale said, rather unassumingly. He didn't want to give the impression that he now suspected Longeye, but he still motioned slightly to Jenbean, trying to let him know what he know thought.
"Go ahead Jenbean, scout ahead. Stay on the channel, though."

Jenbean activated his comm and advanced.

The riverbed was mostly deserted, the odd boulder or pile of pepples showing. The fox observed the area, not seeing any activity. He chanced a glance over his shoulder. Longeye was still standing where he had stopped. Jenbean tuned his comm listener to Casta's frequency.

OOC: Should I listen to Casta's message? Or sya he jammed the signal?

Søren

OOC: It's up to him, he was going to somehow incriminate himself, unintentionally.

OOC: Yup your suppose to catch me doing something sneaky and Casta is suppose to crack under pressure or something I'll give you another go.

BIC: Casta nodded to Brushdale before following Jenbeam down to the river bed glad they hadn't found the com call suspicious. Suddenly the com piece began beeping again as if desperate to be answered. Casta almost panicked turning the thing off throwing it away and down into the riverbed where it disappeared among the rocks.
Seeing the others staring at him Casta quickly came up with and excuse.
"Blasted thing wouldn't stop beeping, must have been broken." Casta said nervously small beads of sweet dripping down his face nervously licking his lips. It sounded lame and he knew there was about to be some awkward questions.

Jenbean paused his search. Casta's comm had beeped again! He slowly turned around and headed to the right, using his tracker to loocate the abandoned comm Longeye had thrown. He found it quickly and inspected it. Nothing was broken! He walked up to Casta, holding out the comm  piece. "Excuse me, but I believe you threw away a perfectly functioning comm piece."

Casta accepted the com glaring furiously at Jenbeam. He was a bout to place the com piece back when it began beeping again, clearly whoever was trying to contact him was not going to give up.
"Its not from the ship, its from the planet someone must have discovered my frequency." Casta said at last. "Should I answer it sir?" He asked Brushdale.

Brushdale wanted to know what was behind all this. If Longeye was sincere, then he would confess. If not, they could have a blood bath on their hands.
"Answer it." Brushdale said, keeping his rifle closer to his hand. He motioned to Jenbean to also be ready for something to happen.
