Sorry Soren but it can't not hurt. You where hit fare and square you cant not take any damage. Serously though, unless your skin is made of stone then a rubber band to the face is going to hurt. Trust me on this one. Not only that but typically once you are hit you have the reflex to drop what you are doing and move you hands to your face (Not saying this is what every one would do but still)

Just use common sense. If you take a hit then you take some damage, if you are not sure how much just compare how bad it would be in RL.
