By the time the soldiers reached the docks, the escaping ship was far in the distance. No military ship would have been fast enough to catch up to it.

Erich sighed in frustration and turned to Archel. "Don't you see, captain? They are like a plague-- we will never remove them by brute force alone. We must use... other methods if we really wish to end this."

Faiyloe

"Agreed, I believe a demonstration is in order." Archel said looking after the ship.

OOC: I think a short Time jump is in order soon after we wrap up the conversation on the ship and any one else who has not posted to wrap up before we jump.

Selva watched the city recede from her spot on the boat. She would have wept for the loss of her family, but she knew they didn't know about her or care. After her loss of control, it would be a hazard for her to go back and watch then again.
Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

Saurrel was a little surprised, but he regained control quickly. He knew it was hard on the others, but he hadn't imagined it'd been this hard. He embraced Alarie, gently rocking back and forth. He made every effort to be as comforting as possible, "I understand... To be quite honest, I'm terrified as well. No family to turn to, no friends to rely on, it's going to be hard.... But, despite our losses, despite every last one, we're not alone... And that's something to take solace in."

Canny stood awkwardly, watching Alarie cry. The Fisher Cat felt like he should be trying to comfort her, but wasn't really sure how to go about it. Instead he studied the other creatures on the ship.

Arron leaned against the ships railing recovering from their sprint though the city. He watched the others move around the deck he didn't know any of them and he wondered why he had even followed them. Not for the first time that day Arron wished he was back home with his father. He sniffed wonder what the older shrew would do when Arron didn't come home after the assigned ten days were up. He would most likely think he was dead captured by bandits or killed in an accident.

He thought about everything that had happened and grew angry at everyone he could thing of. He wanted nothing more then too hurt them the guards the creatures in the city even the ones on the boat. He blamed every beast but himself furiously curling his paw into a fist. Arron slammed his paw down on the deck with a dull thump. A tiny sheet of flame licked from his paw onto the wood work burned the tiny section to ash in seconds. Arron in a panic pulled his paw away in surprise. His anger melted too empathy and thought of what the others were suffering from. They would be hurting just the same as him.

Haenrok stood resting his back against the mast, watching the creatures around him. Most of them seemed frightened, perhaps angry, and longing for family. He shook his head slightly; he had let the thought of his family out of his mind seasons ago, when he had left on his travels. While he did care for them and wonder if he would see them again, he was far too advanced in his wandering away from home to long for them.

He pulled himself away from his rest and addressed out loud the question on his mind. "Where will we go?"

OOC: Seeing as Alarie is in to much of a state to answer I will tell you my plans and then any one can pick it up with suggestions. The goal is to get to Noonvale. They would have to pass threw the marsh and then head threw some forest. They can skip right to the marsh or they can make a stop at the hill country though I think they would be more likely to be caught there. There are to many of them they would be noticed.

OOC: Is there a settlement near the marsh? If not then I would like them to stop at the Hill Country so I can actually do stuff with my characters

"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"

OOC: Ok, since I never got a chance to sling stones at the guards, (:'() I'll get on board...

BIC: Cordan jumped into the harbor and swam out to the ship, cutting through the water easily. With a flick of his powerful rudder, he heaved himself out of the water and grabbed hold of the railing, pulling himself over onto the deck. Shacking the water off of himself, he looked with concern at the amount of beasts aboard his craft. He shook his head. "The Queen Leah is only garrisoned fer one beast, mates. We'll have to put ashore for supplies soon." He looked around. "In the meanwhile, we should probably introduce ourselves, seein as we'll be stuck aboard together here."

Brenn was enjoying himself atop the mast of the ship. It was high and windy, but he loved it. Ever since he could remember, he had wanted to fly. When he was littler, he thought he could just go and jump off of a tree, and he would fly, but it never quite worked out for him that way. This was more to his tase. He could feel the ship swaying beneath him, the wind in his fur... He leaned out over the ship and closed his eyes. The wind began to gust more, and he felt himself letting go of the mast, to fly... fly... fly...

Then, he realized what he was doing and quickly clutched the main spar, breathing hard. That was a close one! Of all the ways of dying, he had not thought getting lost in his own thoughts and falling off of a mast was the way he would go. But it puzzled him. Surely, he should have fallen...?

OOC: @Jet: Sure that sounds good. There can be a settlement near the marsh  (I should make the rest of the map XP)

Five squads had been sent throughout the city. Each one had a document of arrest signed by the King, but this was a purely symbolic measure-- higher officers were always allowed to arrest without a warrant anyway.

Erich stood in the square, watching as the execution site was prepared. The city gates were closed; there was no escape for the doomed criminals now.

Archel had went with a squad into the country to round up the suspects and several others that where known to be magic sympathizers. Archel remembered the report from the search parties from the day before had given him. There was the farm just before the forest where they had the scuffle. From the description the squirrel that they found there looked like she could be Alaries mother if not that then her sister perhaps. Either way...

He took four soldiers with him and sent the rest on ahead. He wanted to do this himself. None had escaped from that prison and lived for very long. He would catch them.

He came up the front path and two guards barged threw the front door. Mrs. Iles Shouted. "This is my house! You have no right!" One of the guards held up the arrest warrant but she ignored it and tried to hit him with the ladle she was holding. the other grabbed her and tried to wrestle it from her paws. She was knocked to the ground.

Archel stepped in and looked down at her for the first time. There was one thing they had failed to mention in the report... She was pregnant. "Out," He said waving the other two guards out of the house. He went over and bent down in front of her. Holding her chin in his paw to make her look at him. "You are convicted of treason..." he said coldly "The only reason I am letting you live is because of the Innocent that you carry," He dropped her chin and let the house without looking back.

Alarie had spent the rest of the night in a fit full sleep of tortured dreams. They had come to the shore just before dawn not to far from a small seaside settlement. One of them could go in and get supplies and then they could figure out what to do next.

She felt a little better this morning though the memories of the prison still burned fresh in her mind they felt so far away now, that they could not reach her.

Sven clinked the heavy chains that bound his paws and footpaws. For the first time in his life he felt abandoned, the ship had been to far out to swim too when he had arrived making him an easy capture for the guards. He had spent his night in a cell and now he waited watching as the execution site was prepared.

He was trapped tighter then he had ever been before in his life. Surrounded by thieves and convicted magic-sympathizers all waiting to die. The rat lifted his paws slightly staring at the locking mechanism knowing it would be to difficult too pick. Besides even if he did get out he was surrounded. There was no getting away this time, he was to die.

OCC: Okay fixed it.
