The Magnanimous opened fire upon the Refuge. Heavy artillery shells streaked at the smaller ship.

.....

The boarding party waited outside the left hallway, slowly cutting their way through the steel door with a laser device. They were unsure of how many guards they could expect on the other side of the door, but there were sure to be at least a dozen.

As the door fell in, the guards unloaded their rifles at the boarding soldiers. One invader fell, but most of the bullets were deflected by the soldiers' plastoid armor.

The soldiers then fired their rifles, downing the majority of the guards within seconds.

The shields of the Refuge were no match for the Magnanimous' weapons. The shells connected to their target, taking out the Refuge's engines.

But instead of stopping the Refuge, the loss of its engines prevented it from slowing its descent. The massive ship began to hurl toward the planets surface in an uncontrolled free-fall. The heat of the descent burned the sensors, further compounding the problem. Seeing that disaster was imminent Xavier sent a breif message to Ridge:

Ship coming down on you. Get underground.

Then he gave the order to avandon ship. He himself tried to make his way to the shuttle bay, but ran right into the boarding party. In desperation he grabbed a rifle from the body of a guard, but as he tried to level it at the soldiers, they shot him down dead.

In the shuttle bay, desperate crew and passengers tried to abandon ship. Three shuttles cleared the door, but the forth lost controll and smashed into the door, depressurizing the bay and setting of an expoision that tore the ship in two.

The two sections of the ship hurdled towards the ground as flaming meteors, one of them headed directly for the ruins of Redwall.

Millard was infuriated. He hadn't meant to destroy the Refuge, but had merely wanted to slow the ship down. Clearly, he had overestimated the damage tolerance of the ship.

....

The boarding party grabbed onto any available surfaces and braced for impact.

Wot, wot!

"Ashenlance, Mystery, Can you hear me?" Spero said, still with horror as she saw the space shuttle heading towards Redwall abbey and the snake slithering closer. "The ruins... the dibbuns, the families. They need our help!"
"Get him! Grab that spy! I want his head!"
Basil chuckled. "What's the matter? Isn't your own head good enough? No, I don't suppose it is. Ugly-looking brute, aren't you?" -Basil to Cluny the Scourge (Redwall)

Steve heard some sort of crying coming from the shadows. Holding his weapon at the ready he approached flashing a light on at the last second. The winged fox was hidden in the corner, Steve let a smile cross over his features as he leaned down and opened his hand.

"I ain't as stone hearted as some people." He told her gently purring  softly in a encouraging sound. "The creatures of this planet are beautiful in their own way I suppose, an we had no right to ruin it, but now were fighting for our lives."

A sounded beep from the communicator drew Steve's eyes ship coming down on you, get under ground "Well that's something to worry about, please get back into the shadows." Steve moved quickly calling his fellows he ran to see what was actually happening ignoring the warning to hide.

Steve saw a huge fireball in the sky and 3 smaller streaks from the shuttle that abandoned ship. An explosion split the large fireball of the ship in two and the aft section continued to break up anddisintegrate, while the front section slowly grew larger.

Suddenly it seemed to get rapidly closer and then hit the ground, missing the ruins of the abbey and the lab by a few hundred meters. The subsequent impact and explosion knocked down trees for a miles around, and knocked down what little of the Abbey's walls remained. The above ground portion of the lab was decimated and impacted by fallen trees. The force of the impact could be felt as an earthquake up to 50 miles away, and falling debris from the aft section covered a similar area.

Everyone still on the ship was killed. After the impact the three shuttles, full of mostly women and children, landed near the ruins of the lab to look for Ridge and his crew.

"Send drop ships down to the surface," Millard ordered. "Check for survivors and eliminate any hostiles in the area."

....

Three dropships descended through the atmosphere, each one carrying soldiers and medical personnel.

Stashi was pulling at the door, trying to get out when she heard the explosion, the whole room shook and she fell flat. Jumping up, she started clawing at the door in a blind panic, ignoring the loud screeching noise it made as her claws dragged themselves down the metal. She stopped, knowing it was no use, she didn't know how to open the door. She backed up, then started running the other way and bumped into one of the giant tubes. She froze, staring at it and wrapping her wings around her. She had to get out of here. Turning, she ran back to the door and started stabbing at it with her daggers.
Just pretend there is something interesting and unique written here... I have nothing to say.

Wot, wot!

Spero nudged Mystery and Ashenlance with her beak. "Hey guys, I'm going to go see what's going on at the abbey," she said, then beat her wings over to the snake, held her breath and wrapped her talons around the thick body. Spero pounded her wings with the snake in her grasp, hoping to fly far enough away with it so it wouldn't kill her friends.
"Get him! Grab that spy! I want his head!"
Basil chuckled. "What's the matter? Isn't your own head good enough? No, I don't suppose it is. Ugly-looking brute, aren't you?" -Basil to Cluny the Scourge (Redwall)

Dyaus and his 60 beasts watched the chariot as they flew off. " Sire, there are some space shuttles here, come and take a look." said a jackal as he took them to three closed pods. The bull ordered his warband to draw their weapons and try to open the pods up. When they did so, a frightful racket was heard through the remains of the forest, alerting all who were in the forest.

Mystery had been in a deep sleep, and hadn't heard Spero's first call. However, maybe even being in a coma wouldn't have stopped her from waking up at the impact of a falling spaceship. Mystery was literally thrown into the air as the earthquake-like vibrations hit and spread out in all directions like a giant ripple. Roughly shoved into consciousness and trying to grasp what was happening, Mystery tried to get to her feet but fell as another wave knocked her onto her three tails. Mystery finally stayed put and let the impact toss her about like a real ocean wave, drawing her double-bladed sword just in case enemies lurked. Her heart was thudding like it had never done before, and that was saying something for Mystery, who had endured much trauma. In those truly breathtaking moments, while trees fell around her and dirt flew into the air, she feared that her life was actually going to end.

When it was over, Mystery paused, almost tasting the silence. She rose slowly to her feet and looked around, her sword in hand, but sensed no enemies that she could take down with a weapon. A terrible, acrid smell lingered. Humans. Surely, humans were the only ones powerful enough to cause a catastrophe like this? Humans and their technology? Looking around her at the fallen trees, Mystery felt fear pressing on her heart. It was a terrible feeling. She needed to do something. Suddenly, she heard Spero's second cry. The kestrel was going to go to the Abbey!

"Wait for me!" Mystery yelled, rising in the air after her friend. She stopped in the air when she saw that Spero was grasping an adder in her very talons. It was the most horrible snake Mystery had ever seen - as if one head wasn't bad enough, this one had five. Is it mutated, too? "Spero, be careful! What are you doing?" Mystery cried, flying a bit closer with sword ready but keeping clear of the beast's menacing heads. A racket that was going on somewhere else in the forest reached her ears, but that was not her main concern at the moment. There were so many things she needed to do...so many things going on.

OOC: By the way, I think Ashenlance is somewhere else, not near us ;)

The survivors in the shuttles were horrified as animals attacked. The first two shuttles to land had already been unloading and were captured completely. The third managed to lock its door. The people inside sat in fear as they heard screams and cries from outside, as well as the animals hacking on their door. They turned on their emergency beacon, and electronic screams of the siren rent the air.

Steve was killed instantly in the blast from the ship. Calvin and Ridge had almost made it too the door when the vessel smashed into the earth making the ground itself shake.

The base had been well made and held up well against the forces pressed against it. The electronics immediately went offline plunging the rooms into darkness. Both remaining men were thrown off their feet in the after shocks nearly falling on Stashi.

Every glass tube had been shattered and the computers were destroyed. Struggling to stand Ridge cursed violently as his injured leg throbbed.

"Botheration, that would be the Refuge, what were they thinking?" Ridge roared.

As the three dropships lowered into the crash site, dozens of soldiers disembarked from them. Armed with automatic rifles, and covered in heavy plastoid armor, they were a formidable sight.

Field Captain John Marshall looked around. "Search for survivors and clear the area of any hostiles," he ordered.

Wot, wot!

OOC: ohh, ok. Thanks Skye  ;D

BIC: Spero let out a great sigh of relief when she saw Mystery flying towards her." I didn't want it to hurt you while you were taking a nap, sleepyhead," She teased, smiling at her friend. "I'm not really sure where I was planning on taking it. There's so much going on. I think the humans are close to or even at the abbey," Spero said, wincing  as the snake flung its head at her.
