In regards to the whole "furries" thing. . .
In a way, Redwall is a fantastical world (despite BJ insisting it was more adventure than fantasy), and while it doesn't have creatures typical of fantasy settings, the animals and creatures there are different from our own. They don't have human characteristics if you think of it as another world; they have their own characteristics that we can relate to.

You know? I have always found it weird that, on the opening of the First Season, Cluny was riding a cart pulled by horses but they were never seen nor heard of again... and, if recall correctly, they were far bigger than any of the rats or mice.

Maybe that's because they never showed up on the series after that, they would be an insanely unjust advantage for the side that has them.
