Ooh.....I really can't decide.

Wot, wot!

Me too :D  Veil was pretty awesome. There's so many though!
"Get him! Grab that spy! I want his head!"
Basil chuckled. "What's the matter? Isn't your own head good enough? No, I don't suppose it is. Ugly-looking brute, aren't you?" -Basil to Cluny the Scourge (Redwall)

"The second you change "I can't" into "why not", you can do anything in the world."

Lady Ashenwyte

I don't think Veil was evil.

Spoiler
Rearrange Veil and see what you get. :P

The fastest way to a man's heart- Or anyone's, in fact- Is to tear a hole through their chest.

Indeed. You are as ancient as the soot that choked Pompeii into oblivion, though not quite as uncaring. - Rusvul

Just a butterfly struggling through my chrysalis.

James Gryphon

I'm surprised there haven't been any "Veil lived" discussions yet.

Of the ones on the poll, I voted for Verdauga Greeneyes. If we narrowed it down to just the main villains in the books, I'd have a tough time choosing between Cluny and Tsarmina.

Captain Tammo

I voted for Damug Warfang because I feel like his role in The Long Patrol was written fantastically. The whole concept of the Rapscallions and their army of unprecedented size (maybe with the exception of Ungatt Trunn's force) was just epic. Their culture reminded me a lot of the old Middle-Eastern empires, where whenever the throne was opened, whichever heir was most powerful always killed off the others and went on to conquer new land. He was also the first Redwall villain I ever read about, so he's kind of a personally special character.
"Cowards die a thousand times, a warrior only dies once. The spirits of all you have slain are watching you, Vilu Daskar, and they will rest in peace now that your time has come. You must die as you have lived, a coward to the last!" -Luke the warrior

I am the harbinger of the spicy rooster apocalypse,
I am the hydrogen bomb in a necktie,
I hold the flames of a thousand collapsed stars,
I am Bobracha!

He is probably better in the books, but the TV series made him look way too annoying and not interesting at all.

no one voted Klitch either, which surprises me again

SoranMBane

Tramun Clogg has always been my favourite Redwall villain. He's just so much fun, I love everything about that ridiculous fat slob.  ;D

Gonff the Mousethief

I voted Urgan Nagru. He was just so cool, and a sly and different villain. Really, he had an element of Mortiarty to him.
I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

Vilu Daskar

Never trust a smiling pirate.  :D

I can do that because I'm awesome.

"It really gets up my nose when publishers call my book another Lord of the Rings. It's my bloody book! I wrote it. And another thing, I didn't have to plunder Norse and European mythology to do it!" - Brian Jacques.

Skyblade

I must have voted a while back. But if I could change my vote, I'd go for Slagar. I dislike all evil characters for being, well, evil, but he was a cool villain and I always found him appealing. Honestly, when I first read the part when he admits that he used to be Chickenhound from Redwall, I was floored. That was unexpected to me. I really like when books reference/have some connection to previous titles in the series.

Slagar had an interesting backstory, which can't be said for most villains of the Redwall series if I'm not mistaken. In fact, we hardly hear about the villains' backstories at all, which is upsetting because that can be interesting! In short, Slagar seemed like a deep and (in comparison) well-developed character with a motive for what he was doing.

Thanks, MatthiasMan, for the avatar!

I liked TV slagar more than book slagar, but none compare to book version of Cluny the scourge
