I'm a tea drinker. If it's black tea like earl grey or English breakfast I like to put sugar in it, but for flavoured black tea and other types of tea I like it straight. Mmmmm, tea.

Not always.

The taste of water is dependent on the minerals and other things therein, and thus can vary greatly from one locale to another. For an example:

Our church organization's local state division annually holds a youth conference in Lufkin (which is a city in Texas), so every year, our group will pack, get a van, and drive out about three hours to Lufkin, where we check in to a local La Quinta and get ready for the services there.

Lufkin is a pretty little place, but it has one certain problem, which I was painfully reminded of on our last trip out there.

The drinking water tastes awful. It's so bad that it's almost a waste of time trying to drink it; I was really thirsty, so I tried to choke down a cup of it, but it was completely unappealing. I ended up buying a vastly overpriced twelve-ounce bottle of water from the vending machine, and considered it worth every penny; it was cool, refreshing, and had no taste defects, unlike the stuff coming out of the faucet.

I didn't go from place to place and try out the water everywhere, so maybe it was just that one hotel, but I dunno... in any case, though, that's definite proof that not all drinking water is equal. There can be some places that indeed really do have great water, but there are other places where you'd be better off meeting your daily hydration requirements through soft drinks, because the water there isn't going to help you much.

I'd say that filtered, processed water can be the best drink, at times, but just "water" -- any kind of water, from anywhere -- may not be.

I hate watching those doctor shows (like Dr.Oz) because they always make me feel bad about drinking soda. I like Dr. Pepper best. Water is my favorite thing to drink when I'm thirsty though.

Mountain Dew for me.  During the school year I really drink more soda than is probably healthy (like, at work, I usually drink two glasses of Mello Yellow, it's free during work hours); I try to get some lemonade and juice in there too, and drink milk at home.
