Alright, I can see why that could look suspicious. I really want to finish this game for several reasons. I have never made it this far in a Mafia game without being killed off (that's for the more recent games we've been playing), it's fun and I want to see how this ends, and I also want to see what everybody's roles were.

I'm still thinking about Eul. Gonff and Rus, I don't know about them. They could be Mafia, I just don't know.

Tonight? Ok. I really wish Gonff and Rus would start posting, it makes this game a lot harder when only a few people are trying to figure things out. I kinda suspect Rus and/or Gonff, but I really have no clue who it could be. It's only because Soren doesn't seem very suspicious and Sky is obviously not Mafia.

In leaning toward either Gonff or Eul, still not sure about Rus.

The reason I haven't posted is A) I have been quiet busy, but thankfully I should have more time, and B) I really don't know who to pick.

Since Rus hasn't been posting, plus I have suspected him since the beginning, I'll go with him. I vote Rus.

@Gonff: Why do YOU suspect Rus?

In Mafia, if you post to early accusing someone, you become a suspect. (You also have little to go by except the story, which, while quite well written, is of little use for determining suspects.) I find it disadvantageous to do that. So I waited until several others had voiced concerns, thinking I would respond to them with either agreement or a different suspect. However, I have been fairly distracted as of late, (Video game updates, D&D characters, learning to snap) I've not been to active. It looks like I've waited too long and made myself a suspect in the process. Oops.

Being defensive is a Mafia sign. After all, if the Town loses one person, it's not as big a deal as if the Mafia loses one person. Mafia members are more focused on survival; thus, they try to look innocent. He even says in this post that he's trying not to be a suspect...I don't like it, man.

That's why Gonff''s latest post explaining why he hasn't posted raises the hairs on my skin. It's defensive. But I have more going on Rus.

Here, Rus is explaining his actions. I'm not sure why people feel the need to excuse away their posts (or lack of) in Mafia games, but IMHO the clearest reason is to look more innocent. Which is something Mafia are more likely to do.

Also, the vibe I'm getting from this is that he's trying to pardon himself. "I didn't post enough, and now I'm a suspect! But my inactivity isn't my fault; here's why."

I find it unnerving that the night after Rrrrr was executed and Sage was killed, he made a post saying that he has a substitute in case he can't be active. That's just an odd thing to say, and it was in the Night stage.

He has drifted away from the thread for some reason. It's hard to read people who don't post.

   Well, sorry. A thread went down, nothing happened for quite a long time, I've now forgotten pretty much everything that's happened... I would ask to not be expected to return immediately to a thread that's been on hiatus for... what, two or three months?

   Regardless, I'm here now. And apparently I'm (still?) a suspect. (again?) So please, give me a chance to dissuade you.

   Sky. You're a confirmed townie. However, I'll have to respectfully disagree- If you accuse the sheriff? They'll try to defend themselves. Accuse the Doc? They'll try to defend themselves. Accuse the Mafia? Yeah, they'll also try to defend themselves. Because if someone gets lynched, that's bad for their team. EVERYONE wants to not seem suspicious, because if they fumble, they die and then their team is more likely to lose. So tell me- What exactly is so suspicious about trying to defend myself in the interest of the town?

   You're clearly innocent. That means people will probably listen to you. That gives you a kind of power... Please be careful with it. It'd be really, really bad if we went on a lynching spree, guided by vague suspicious, only to find the Mafia quietly hiding behind the decoys we've inadvertently set up for them. Lynching at this stage, with such vague ideas of who might be Mafia... I'm convinced it's a mistake. I abstain, and I urge the rest of you to as well, at least until we have a more clear case against someone.

I found the defensive argument on a Mafia forum, to be honest. Yes, anyone can be defensive. It's just more common with Mafia.

I would prefer to abstain so we can all talk more, but we have a time limit. At this point, losing one more Town member could lead to an automatic loss (if two Mafia are still alive, which is very possible). So yes, we need to be careful.

I can't add anything on top of Sky's argument against Rus, so my own observations would be prestated. I vote Rus. But Gonff also falls under that same category.
I don't know anymore, because it's on either extreme. It's either lots of posting, or no posting, and both could be Mafia signs. It's so hard to choose with a game this late. But I'm going with Rus.

I voted Rus because of his evasiveness and only posting to defend. He's posts are pretty heavily laced with cutting statements, but then he'll disappear for a while. He seems to act a little too sneaky. But besides him, I can't decide between Gonff or Eul. They both could be Mafia for different reasons.

That does seem suspicious, but if you think about it, it might not be a sign of him being Mafia. First of all, if there were two, he wouldn't really need a substitute. The active Mafia player would just make all the decisions on their own. I'm thinking he could be Medic or something. Town roles would definitely need a substitute. I could be looking too far into this and it really does mean he's Mafia, but I don't want to rush any votes this far into the game.

  But I can see why he would be Mafia. With all the evidence you guys have pointed out. The votes are already against Rus. I may as well vote for Rus, too, since it won't change much.

But AAH. Oh my goodness. Town, I really am trying I thought Rus was the most likely to be Mafia.

Any thoughts for the last Mafia? Any of us could die now. And we don't even know if it's one or two Mafia left.
