Spoiler
Ha ha ha! It's not that weird of a topic.

Ever since watching MIB ( 8)) and observing the neural mind eraser thingys I've been thinking about hypnosis. I'm not gonna make a long post here telling about the long, boring details of hypnosis and how it isn't mind control blah blah blah.

Has anybody had previous encounters with this? I find it fascinating but also really creepy. (and I haven't had first-person encounters. No.)

You mean if we have been hypnotized? I haven't... but I'm curious about if it can even be done. That would be cool.

No, I just mean experiences that told you alot about it. I nervous to do anything more then read webpages about it.  :-\ Not that I want to be hypnotized.

I have never been hypnotized or anything like that, but lies and propaganda could be used to mis-lead people (Such as Germany in  WWII) and amke them think wrong things So from that angle,"hypnotizing" in a certain way is more common than you think.
I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

That's an interesting angle, Goniff. I personally believe that the news agencies are the bigger examples of hypnosis that there is. It all depends on which side of the political road they are (here the bigger ones are against the government and every day you see negative news being shown... ONLY the negatives).

I missed Gonff's post earlier, but yes, that is a good perspective.

Great song too, by the way. Very inspirational.

I don't believe it is possible to take away a person's ability to make choices unless the person lets you. That said, I believe some hypnotism may work for some people (e.g. breaking bad habits and such), but to hypnotize them and force them to do something they would not otherwise do? I do not believe that is feasible.

Interesting. If it was, that would be awful.

 I don't believe it's possible to completely hypnotize someone. That being said, fear can be used to "hypnotize" people and make them do things they would never do under ordinary circumstances.
