It really is.  Though, I was raised on cursive, so I actually prefer writing that way

I learnt proper cursive up until about 'G', but then I stopped, so now I just make it up.

When I'm bored in maths (yes, that can happen!), I usually write Fibonacci, or powers of two, or square numbers, or triangular numbers, or the 1, 11, 21, 1211 sequence. Or I just do that in the notes pages of my school diary/planner thing. And there was that great science lesson about bacteria, where I got up to 2^41 (upsetting, really. It was part of the lesson). In a science lesson recently I wrote down Pascal's triangle up to line 12.
