Hi, all. I've been wanting to do this for a while, actually. This is my personal study guide to the SAT standardized test created and issued by College Board. I'll be using this to help myself study and help any of you who are taking the SAT prepare :)

"Students learn... 95% of what they teach to others."

So! To be honest, this won't be useful for the vast majority of you, considering that the SAT is going to be completely redesigned in March 2016 anyway. But you never know. Also, I hope that by posting this on the forums, I will keep myself accountable.

I hope to go over all aspects of this test, INCLUDING every section on the test and specific strategies. Now, I'm not the person with the most ethos... I got a 2150 on my last SAT :'( So, you might want to take my advice with a pinch of salt. HOWEVER, I do take my knowledge from a great variety of sources who do have ethos. So actually, I think this won't be too bad a source for tips. This may actually help you out quite a bit if you're taking the SAT soon :)

I will be updating this thread with my findings. Please feel free to comment.

This is a very smart idea Sky! With you being one of the brightest and well rounded people on here, it will help us all to see what you provide. I may be taking either the SAT or ACT next year (Depending on what I get asked to do), so this should help! Thank you in advance!
I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

Skyblade

Thank you so much, Gonff. I appreciate it :)

Well, the SAT will be redesigned in March 2016, but you never know.

Best wishes! ^^

That's funny... Our SAT scores are only 10 points apart ;D Anyhow, nice topic. I'm definitely interested in hearing what you have to say :)

Skyblade

Hmm. I need to be far better. Thank you though, Mhera. I guess we can help each other.

Hey Sky, I hate to break it to ya- but you can't beat up on yourself as much anymore. I ran some numbers, and your SAT is higher than the average SATs at 9 of the top 10 U.S. colleges. That's enough to get you into Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Stanford, U of Chicago, MIT (As long as you have a high math score- 750+), Duke, and U of Pennsylvania. It probably won't get you into CalTec, but you have plenty of other options for prestigious schools.
"'Tis the business of small minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

"Integrity and firmness is all I can promise; these, be the voyage long or short, shall never forsake me although I may be deserted by all men."
-George Washington

Courage: Not only the willingness to die manfully, but also the determination to live decently.

The Skarzs

I think perhaps that some of the issues with doing the SAT is the way public schools teach. Students are taught to remember, not to work out problems in some cases. :P

Thank you, Wylder... I just want to do better. But thank you so much; it makes me feel good. I appreciate it ^^

Oh and Skazrs, you have a point.

I am part of a PSAT class at my school, but this should be able to help as well. Thank you, Sky, for making this. ^ ^

Skyblade

@rrrrr: Why are you so sad? :D

@Plugg: Thank you for the appreciation! :) Well, are you taking the SAT before it gets redesigned? (March 2016)
