Well, we need few people to discuss it together, and when they come to agreement, they send the list they've made to me.

I say salamandastron sal-am-an-DAS-tron. and the pronunciation guide is a good idea.

Gonff the Mousethief

I say it Sal a man DA Stron

I also say Rue san o
I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

Jukka the Sling

I pronounce Wildlough "Wildlock", 'cause "lough" is just an alternate spelling of "loch". I just thought I'd throw that out there, in case anyone was wondering how to pronounce that. :)

But I'm also wondering, how do you guys pronounce Lycian? (The Abbess from High Rhulain.) Do you say it "Lie-shun", or "Lissien"?
"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater." ~J.R.R. Tolkien

Tam and Martin

I pronounce Lycian the second way you mentioned it with the 'I' kind of sounding like an 'E'.

Good topic!

I too thought Asmodeus was as-mo-de-us.
I had trouble knowing how to say 'eulaliah' but I know it now. I also say Salamandastron correctly now.
Whilst I read Redwall I don't think I properly pronounced Methuselah in my mind because I really wasn't too sure how it was said. I seem to know how to spell his name now so I guess that helps me to pronounce it right...

I'm generally getting pronunciations wrong in a lot of cases. In Harry Potter before the first film came out I thought Hermione was pronounced 'Her-me-own'. :D

Anyway, I'm sure there's more Redwall characters I'm pronouncing wrong in my head.

Vilu Daskar

I pronounce all the weird stuff how they do it in the audio books
Never trust a smiling pirate.  :D

I can do that because I'm awesome.

"It really gets up my nose when publishers call my book another Lord of the Rings. It's my bloody book! I wrote it. And another thing, I didn't have to plunder Norse and European mythology to do it!" - Brian Jacques.

Wylder Treejumper

I say it in my improper American way, then say it with a British accent.
Makes everything easier, and ta-da! Problem fixed!
"'Tis the business of small minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

"Integrity and firmness is all I can promise; these, be the voyage long or short, shall never forsake me although I may be deserted by all men."
-George Washington

Courage: Not only the willingness to die manfully, but also the determination to live decently.

Martin the Warrior is way more epic than Mickey Mouse. Anyone who says otherwise is insane, or just wrong.

Cornflower MM

Salamandastron is Sala-MANDA-stron. Kotir is Ko-ter.

The Skarzs

Rang-oo-var, or Rang-yoo-var?
Goo-lo, or Guh-lo?
Cave of Skarzs

Cave potato.

Cornflower MM

Guh-lo. Rang-oo-var. At least, that's what I thunk.
