Or those half-grown duck eggs that are buried in sand to rot in the heat and then dug up and eaten.

I honestly can't remember what it was
but in ghana (in the area I was in) there were so so so many vendors selling what we called "The Blue Bag Special" which was sold, as you can guess, in a somewhat opaque blue bag. You could not quite tell what was in it, just a block of wet brownish stuff. Solid square blocks wrapped up in blue plastic. Its some kind of fermented grain or maybe corn. It sits out in the sun until you buy it and take it home and for some reason eat it.
